The scripture is clear that the Word is God, and that the Word became flesh, and that the Word made flesh is Jesus.

I certainly do believe that Jesus is pre-existent...however, how that can be is going to have to be a mystery to you as I believe that I may have already overstepped my bounds in saying more on the subject than I really should.

As Son, He is most definitely not created; indeed according to scripture "all things were made through Him, and apart from Him nothing was made that has been made."  When it says, "All things", it tells us that He was already present before anything was created because if He was not present then nothing would have been created.

As Messiah/Redeemer/Savior He is also not created but rather incarnated; "and was made man".  "Made man" does not tell us that He was made when He was made man, only that He took on flesh and dwelt among us.

I was just wondering if the posts that have to do with the Creed could be cut from here and pasted into a new thread.  I generally avoid getting drawn into digressions, but I get a bit passionate about the Incarnation.

However, what you say is contradicted by Romans 1:3...He is made (not uncreated) according to the flesh.

You mean a link to a video isn't allowed either?  That's an interesting approach; it would seem to exclude links to news stories as well.

OTOH moderating links can be a time-killer!  The way we handled it on one site where I was a moderator was that a member's first dozen links were examined closely, and if they all passed muster with no misgivings, that member was basically "licensed to link".  The members didn't know about the system, they just knew that most links got approved but some didn't (if we'd let the know, they could have gamed the system).
