2. Satan rules hell: No, Satan does not rule hell, he is the 'god' of this earth. God is the dude who runs hell and heaven. Demons do not torture people there. In fact, hell is not only a prison for human sinners but also demons as well. (Matthew 25:41), (Revelation 20:10),(2 Peter 2:4), (Jude 1:6). There is no biblical evidence to show that Satan has even been to hell.

A lot of people's ideas came from culture. They envision Satan in Hell with a pitch fork with horns on his head. Nothing in scripture to say this.

8. There are different types of demons: We don't know, the bible does not distinguish between demon types. As far as I know, there are only 2 types of demons - Satan(the worst) and every other demon.

So there, I cleared up a few myths about Satan, demons, and hell.

The Bible does state there is a Kingdom of Darkness with Satan as it's head.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Eph 6:12

The seems to speak of a variety of different types but what does it all mean? I don't think we have to know exactly. Jesus did refer to some type of spirits by what they do....deaf and dumb spirits, unclean spirits, lying spirits etc.

I still don't think though we have to know too much about their system or set up what they look like or things like that. We're not to be ignorant however about Satan's devices....or how that Kingdom tries to defeat us.

Trying to get too much into the details of Satan's kingdom take ones focus off Christ and his kingdom.

Jesus lets us know there are different types of demons

Mark (

28 After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”

29 He replied, “This kind can come out only by prayer.

This kind indicates that there are more then 1 kind

Expanding some thoughts on the subject:

The Bible has much to say about the spiritual realm (elohim), both fallen and unfallen. It appears there is a hierarchy and ranking among the heavenly host. Their descriptions read more like job descriptions than anything else. Archangels, Seraphim, Cherubim, Angels (messengers), Death angel(s), Watchers, Beasts, unclean-evil spirits, Thrones, Princes, powers, rulers, etc.

The Archangel Michael was contending for the body of Moses, and he dared not rebuke Satan. Instead, he handed it over to the Lord to rebuke Satan.

We know that Satan usurped Adam’s authority and is the temporary god of this world, and is restrained until the Restrainer is taken away. The first prophecy in the Bible is fascinating, especially when read literally, leading up to Genesis 6:1-4.

Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Few would disagree that Satan tried many times to destroy the Jewish race and corrupt humanity, and he is not through and will again attempt genocide in the tribulation. Reading the Bible literally, Satan almost succeeded in contaminating the entire human and animal genome save eight, thus the global deluge.

It is interesting to note before the flood; there is no mention of evil – unclean spirits (demons) or necromancy mentioned in the Bible; they suddenly start appearing, becoming demi-gods and legends of renown (Nephilim). Every unassociated ancient culture at the same time has written records and tales of Titians and demi-gods.

I can tell you from personal experience that he comes with everything you ever wanted, if you follow him.

John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Ezekiel 28:15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

There is a lot to chew on in these three scriptures. The Devil (diabolos) is the slanderer & adversary opposed to the divine will. Being the father of something suggests he is the head of, or the originator, beginning and first. The Devil was lying to and deceiving Eve to disobey God and commit sin. Thus, sin was present in the Devil and his followers before humanity was corrupted and death entered the world.

Job 38:7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

To conclude, there is a history and actions of Lucifer and his minions between them witnessing the creation and the Garden of Eden of unknown length. We know the reason for Satan’s fall, pride (being puffed up).

Besides his beauty and ego, what caused Lucifer to stumble, become Satan, and rebel? Why do he and his followers hate humanity passionately and devote all their limited time and efforts to our eternal demise?

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

In Gen. 1:26 above, does it make sense the coequal, co-omniscient Trinity is talking between themselves? Rendering that view implies One of the Godheads is suggesting it to the other Two. I think this is still a part of creating the heavenly host was witnessing, and the Lord was speaking to and addressing an audience about what He was about to create.

Could jealousy and pride have been a part of a rebellion? It is not said the heavenly host (elohim-spirits) was created in the image and likeness of God, His representatives, and imagers to carry out His will and purpose, representing Him here on earth as one family.

It seems the Lord desired two distinct families for His will and purposes, one spiritual, one flesh, blood, and bone.

We all have differing views…

The watchers are not even biblical, they come from the book of Enoch.

Have you considered Enoch, Elijah, and even Job?

Job only behaved so that he can get all the good stuff. Nowhere in the bible is it mentioned that Enoch and Elijah were sinless. Also wasn't Enoch justified by faith?

Watchers are mentioned in the book of Daniel. Specifically, in the 4th chapter where Nebudchanezzar's dream is recorded.
