Do you personally like to read the bible in order(from start to finish), or do you like reading out of random bible passages?

I read various passages, verses, chapters and books within the Bible. So not in a start to finish fashion, though I'll probably won't be finish anytime soon lol.

I like to read it to look for specific answers and guidance in my daily life rather than just  methodically reading it through and through.

I jump around, but not randomly. I read a Gospel, then one of the OT books, then one of the letters, then something different from the OT (history, prophecy or poetry). I think it's important to have a "balanced  diet", and not just stick to your favourite bits.

I am reading it right now in chronological order.  I also read certain subject matter anywhere in Scripture.

Since I teach Sunday School I also read the planned lesson text.

I also read and prepare my sermon text for preaching on Sunday morning.

I love to read my Bible on my phone during the day also.

For the Christian, reading the Bible is more important than one would ever know.  Seriously

Here are some good plans:

[1] I think the One-Year Bible is good:  a chapter from the Old, a chapter from the New,  a Psalm, and a Proverb.

[2] The Chronological Bible is great!  I really like that one.

[3]  For me, since I have taught the Bible for many, many years - I like to read a book at a time [sometimes 2-3 books at a time = 2-4 chapters a day].

Two chapters a day = you can read the Bible in 2 years

Four chapters a day = you can read the Bible in 1 year.

You got that right Sister! Amen!MOST important

Every year I start a One Year plan - usually my church gives one out and I've done the You Version app one, that one is laid out quite nicely with reminders

I also like the Daily Scripture verse from Bible Gateway and usually start there ,reading the full Chapter and wherever I might go from there

But when I wake up after some Praising, prayer & communion I read George's Worthy Brief and see where that might Lead to....

It might sound like alot but it's not at all,I used to start 3am & read for many hours .....the Brief,Bible gateway & One Year plan reading is really keeping me from being " too busy" to read God's Word,it's my " must do" routine which helps but really,it's not enough -its not the quantity but the quality, seeking to be near Him is the difference ,I'm way too pre-occupied as of late!Prayers would be appreciated ❤️

I read the Bible according to what I want to learn from it at any given time.  For example, I just finished reading Ezekiel and am now reading John.  I read whatever part the Holy Spirit directs me to read.

When I got cancer and went through chemo etc, I had chemo fog. Thats where the brain is mentally off, like you are on drugs, incapable of thinking clearly. So I was not able to read the bible steadily. I got out of the habit during that time and for a year after all of that too as I recovered and had to start getting back into the habit again. I read through the bible once every 15 months and also "random" passages that pertain to a situation or what I just feel like reading. For instance, I love to read the psalms and will often read one of them at the end of the day.

Shameless plug: I kept omegamans tradition of a year long bible reading plan.
