In Gen 1:26-28 God, as grantor or settlor, expresses a trust, the fruits of creation, that names man as the beneficiary. The trustee of the trust is not explicitly named. Who is the trustee?

 that names man as the beneficiary

Beneficiary, man?

..." Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so.  And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

26-28 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.  Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

 And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.  Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is [a living soul] life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so.  Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day." ....

Hmm interesting opening post.

Seems to me that man was granted dominion, which did  give rule, for a purpose of the owner/creator, but does not necessarily  grant unlimited authority, nor a clear title to do with whatever one wishes, as a beneficiary might have.

Mankind might have been  a trustee of what God created and may have benefitted from it too; but he ( The first man) did not do well with what he was given charge of and lost that charge to that entity which has dominion today, the ruler of this place  earth who is called Satan. So is there the beneficiary, man,  on which to base the proposition presented?

That would be the Son, who has sent the Holy Spirit as a guarantee.

Colossians 1:

16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth,

visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers.

All things were created through Him and for Him.

17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

Revelation 4:11 You are worthy, O Lord,
To receive glory and honor and power;
For You created all things,
And by Your will they exist and were created
.

The Holy Spirit, the promise of the Father, seals us as the guarantee.

2 Corinthians 5:5 Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God,

who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.

Ephesians 1:

13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth,

the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed,

you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption

of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

Romans 8:

19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits

for the revealing of the sons of God.

20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly,

but because of Him who subjected it in hope;

21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage

of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God

22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors

with birth pangs together until now.

23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit,

even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for

the adoption, the redemption of our body

Thanks. Your feedback has helped shine a biblical light on express trusts.

A closer reading of Gen 1:26-28, reveals:
26. God made he, man in the image and likeness of God;

  • that is to say God, as settlor, chose a trustee who possesses similar attributes to God;

27. God creates a distinction between he, man the trustee; and them, male and female the beneficiaries;
28. God declares the benefits and obligations to them, male and female the beneficiaries.

The lawful steps to express the “creation trust” has been copied in the legal system, Three Certainties of Express Trust.

A closer reading of Col 1:16-17, reveals God, as settlor, appointed a protector who possesses the same attributes as God, “to direct or restrain the trustees in relation to their administration of the trust.” This is affirmed by Eph 1:13-14.

To the followers of God “everything functions as a trust”.

To the followers of God “everything functions as a trust”.

The Son is also the mediator for reconciliation on behalf

of His aggrieved Father and the violators of that trust.

1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God and one Mediator

between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.

Astounding that the Father holds Himself legally bound

to His Word.

Hebrews 6:

13 For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could

swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself,

14 saying, Surely blessing I will bless you, and

multiplying I will multiply you.

15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

16 For men indeed swear by the greater, and

an oath for confirmation is for them an end of all dispute.

(i.e. the terms of mediation are final)

17 Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs

of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath,

18 that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie,

we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge

to lay hold of the hope set before us.

Thanks Mr. M for your thoughtful input.

Being in subjection to his own word, God warns that termination powers are vested in the trust protector.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
