The ladies group did a study on the Lords prayer and dissected it word by word. I found it very interesting. I never really thought of the prayer as having every single word precisely put there for a greater purpose. Like the beginning Our Father . Our- not my, not their, not Christians, not Jews but ALL! He is OURS, all of us.

Then the second word in the prayer is Father . The relationship we have with Him. He treats us like His children. He provides for us, chastises us, protects us etc. Just as we would our own children.

Well we studied the prayer in depth for a long time so I can't remember all of it. But I did find this quick study online that says some of it. I wish I had the whole study but this link will do.

Call Sister Pam Phillips at New Life Fellowship, in Glendale, Arizona, and ask for her Prayer Guide. You can literally pray through the Yahweh-compound names, and the Lord's prayer for hours and hours on end.

Pam is a wonderful lady; she and Joe (the Pastor and her husband) are two of my favorite people on earth. Please tell her I suggested you call.

God bless you.

Have you ever heard Dr. David Yungie Cho? (sp?) He does a teaching on the Lords Prayer that is awesome. I was fortunate enough to hear him at an Intersessors (sp?) conference a couple of years ago. I think I still have the CD from the conference. If you would like it PM me. I will start looking for it

The LORD's prayer is indeed a guideline on how to pray but we have to remember the purpose of it.JESUS' disciples asked HIM how to pray because they didnt know how. They were probly so used to hearing the way the Pharisees prayed and thought that was the only way.JESUS told them not to pray like the Pharisees did.To stay away from vainful praying.Sometimes the LORD'S prayer is used incorrectly or is just used as a memorized prayer without knowing what to pray for.Look at the Pharisee and the publican praying in the temple. One prayed...me,me,me...the other prayed LORD forgive me.Prayer begins within the heart...the condition of the heart.

I cannot tell you where a good on line study of the Lords' Prayer is, but I can tell you it is a wonderful place to begin studying about prayer. As we read through the 4 Gospels we learn that Jesus told us everything we needed to know about prayer. He told us how to pray, what to pray for, whose name to pray in, that the Lords' will was first and foremost the final outcome of our prayers. Total surrender to His Lordship.

When my children were small I wanted to teach them something more than a "now I lay me down to sleep" prayer, so I taught them the Lord's prayer. Each night as we all got on our knees we recited the Lords' prayer together until I was sure they had it memorized. Then I taught them to continue on in personal prayer.

As the years passed the Lord taught me something more about that prayer. One night I was absolutely exhausted from work and overwhelmed with circumstances facing me. My normal prayer routine is on my knees beside my bed or rocking chair each night before I go to sleep. That night I just fell into bed feeling as if I was just too weary to pray. "Lord", I whispered, "I want to pray. I love You and I am so very thankful for You. I am just so tired Lord and it seems like I have been praying the same old prayers lately. Forgive me, Lord." I closed my eyes to go to sleep then the Lords' prayer came to my mind. I lay there in my bed and focused all my heart on the Lord and said to the Lord (not just repeating a verse but speaking directly to the Father), "Our Father which art in heaven.... Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever, in Jesus name, amen." By the time I reached the end of that very personal prayer I was filled with a new strength and began to praise and worship the Lord as I entered into His presence. I prayed a long time that night.

The Lord reminded me of something. He reminded me that the Lords' prayer isn't just a model prayer, but it is also the word of God, powerful and sharper than any two edged sword. Certainly we are not to just memorize it and then never grow in our prayer life. But it is a wonderful model, and when the devil tries to get you down, it is a wonderful sword!!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
