Romans 7:1 Know ye not, brethren, for I speak to them that know the law,

that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives?

We are set free from the Law not just by the death and resurrection of Christ,

but by obedience to the apostolic doctrines  in the Body of Christ.

4 Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through the body of Christ,

that you may be married to another, to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God.

Colossians 2:

16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a holy day,

or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body of Christ.

Newness of Life in Christ is found in His Body

1 Corinthians 12:

18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?

20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.

21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:

23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honorable, upon these

we bestow more abundant honor; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.

24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together,

having given more abundant honor to that part which lacked.

25 That there should be no schism in the body;

but that the members should have the same care one for another.

26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it;

or one member be honored, all the members rejoice with it.

27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

This matter of the Christian and the Law should be laid to rest - but it won't. Here is the simplicity of dealing with it, but since man ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, he likes garments of Fig Leaves.

The first simple fact is that the Law was give ONLY to Israel. If you are not a Jew, you have nothing to do with it. If man makes a contract with his local Ford dealer for a car, which neighbor can suddenly claim to be part of the contract? Even if one wishes to apply Romans 2 that those without Law have it written on their consciences, they are still not party to the Covenant of Sinai.

The second simple fact is that when Israel refused their Messiah, He started a brand new company of men and women called "The New Man". The constituents of this New Man are taken OUT OF the Gentiles and OUT OF Israel. The Law had, as one of its pillars, total separation between Jew and Gentile. This pillar would hinder the building of the Church. The Holy Spirit calls it, "the WALL OF PARTITION" in Ephesians 2. So that this wall could be removed, Christ took the Law onto the cross with Him. That is;

1. the Law is fully valid for the Israelite that refuses Christ

2. the Law is crucified with Christ for the ex-Jew who is now a member of the New Man

3. the Law NEVER APPLIED to the Gentile.

ALL BELIEVERS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH LAW. All believers are subject to the "Law of LIFE IN Christ Jesus". That is, Christ dwells in your human spirit and makes his demands from there (Romans 8)

This is the stated position of the OP, supported by Paul's writings,

three portions of which are quoted, and there are many more.

Paul refers to this as "sound doctrine" which is anchored "in Christ".

Are we not clearly at this point:

2 Timothy 4:

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine,

but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears,

they will heap up for themselves teachers;

4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, (the Voice of the Spirit)

and be turned aside to fables.

Jesus is the end of the Law,

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.” (Romans 10:4)

The law is the power of sin:

The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law, but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:56-57)

I see what you meant by your statement. Then we are in agreement. You just rendered it more elegantly than I imagined.

Thanks for the clarification and God bless.

The LORD God Almighty made a promise to Abraham. This is the Abrahamic Covenant. There is zero, external laws governing Abram, who became Abraham. The Laws and the Prophets did not exist at this time. Isaac and Jacob were not under the Law.

The Abrahamic Covenant still stands because God made a Promise. God does not break promises nor is the promise finite.

Moses was given the Law.

The Mosaic Covenant, formed by the only Lawgiver and Judge, laid down the Laws for His Nation of Holy Priests. They missed the mark.

Jesus came with a New Covenant. You are not under the Law, but under Grace.

Jesus knows the Ten Commandments by heart. Why? They are written on his heart of flesh. They were formerly only written only on stone. You remember the two stone tablets Moses brought down the mountain.

Jesus Christ God is the living Stone, who came from the Rock Eternal. The Rock Eternal is also called the Rock of Israel.

Now, anyone who puts their Belief, Faith, and Worship in the Law is not worthy of Christ. He said plainly, you believe in my Father, believe in Me also. God is God.

Now, I have no Faith in the Law as my method nor means of Salvation and Grace from God the Father and Christ the Son. My complete Faith, Belief, and Obedience is to God Almighty and Jesus and the Holy Spirit, which is the Trinity.

However, these Laws govern Father's House in God's Kingdom. Jesus is the Way to Father's Kingdom. If you desire to get inside, then you must be Holy, Righteous, and Just like the Law teaches. I am not under the Law. However, the Ten Commandments govern my personal words and actions. I uphold the Law in my body, which is God's Temple.

Jesus also teaches this:

James 4:11
Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against a brother or sister or judges them speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it.

James 4:12
There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?

Last tidbit of information. Jesus summed up the Law using two commands. Love God. Love your neighbor.

So, Christ summed up the two covenants: Abrahamic and Mosaic. He made them into the New Covenant. The New Covenant is a summation and explanation of all that Father God reveals through the Old Testament.

Mankind must obey Father God. Mankind should uphold the Laws of the only Lawgiver and Judge. Mankind must be fair, honest, and just. Do not use God's Laws to carry out injustice and ungodly behavior. This only brings God's wrath and not Christ's Mercy.

Abraham’s covenant was no the Law of Moses, and true sins of Abraham out their faith in Adonai Jesus Christ. Abraham was called righteous because of faith:

What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, discovered in this matter? If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about—but not before God. What does Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”

Now to the one who works, wages are not credited as a gift but as an obligation. However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness. David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the one to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:
“Blessed are those
    whose transgressions are forgiven,
    whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the one
whose sin the Lord will never count against them.”

Is this blessedness only for the circumcised, or also for the uncircumcised? We have been saying that Abraham’s faith was credited to him as righteousness. 10 Under what circumstances was it credited? Was it after he was circumcised, or before? It was not after, but before! And he received circumcision as a sign, a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. So then, he is the father of all who believe but have not been circumcised, in order that righteousness might be credited to them. And he is then also the father of the circumcised who not only are circumcised but who also follow in the footsteps of the faith that our father Abraham had before he was circumcised.

It was not through the law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith. For if those who depend on the law are heirs, faith means nothing and the promise is worthless, because the law brings wrath. And where there is no law there is no transgression.

Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all. As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.

Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God,  being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.  This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.” (Romans 4:1-22)

And Jesus said,

Jesus and Abraham

Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

“But we are descendants of Abraham,” they said. “We have never been slaves to anyone. What do you mean, ‘You will be set free’?”

Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin. A slave is not a permanent member of the family, but a son is part of the family forever.  So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.  Yes, I realize that you are descendants of Abraham. And yet some of you are trying to kill me because there’s no room in your hearts for my message.  I am telling you what I saw when I was with my Father. But you are following the advice of your father.”

“Our father is Abraham!” they declared.

“No,” Jesus replied, “for if you were really the children of Abraham, you would follow his example. Instead, you are trying to kill me because I told you the truth, which I heard from God. Abraham never did such a thing. No, you are imitating your real father.”

They replied, “We aren’t illegitimate children! God himself is our true Father.”

Jesus told them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, because I have come to you from God. I am not here on my own, but he sent me. Why can’t you understand what I am saying? It’s because you can’t even hear me! For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:31-44)

Sons of Abraham are sons of faith, trusting in God who is Jesus Christ, hence,

There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.  And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.” (Galatians 3:28-29)

Araham the Patriarch was told of Jesus’ coming, and Jesus is the only Way to the Father, eternal life, and the New Covenant foretold by Jeremiah (John 14:6, John 3:16-18, Jeremiah 31:31-34, Luke 22:20)

I like your statement;

Quote

Now, anyone who puts their Belief, Faith, and Worship in the Law is not worthy of Christ. He said plainly, you believe in my Father, believe in Me also. God is God.

May I propose then that even the New Covenant is made ONLY with Israel, and is again a Covenant of Law. Here is Jeremiah 31:31 onward ...

31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: 33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more

The two parties of this Covenant are Jehovah and the TWO Houses of Israel. Who they are is again confirmed in verse 32. Their "fathers" (plural) came out from Egypt. In verse 33 it is again the House of Israel. The use of "Israel" alone is "After those days" indicating a time when the TWO Houses become ONE. This time is also defined in verse 34 as a time when their iniquity is forgiven. According to Romans 11:25-27 this only when the fullness of the Gentiles is come in. Added to this, it is still a Covenant of Law.

The idea (which I agree is quite prevailing) that the Church is under the New Covenant comes from the last Passover the Lord ate with His disciples. He took a cup and made it symbolic of TWO SEPARATE THINGS;
1. the remission of sins
2. the RATIFICATION of the New Covenant with Israel

Because man is a sinner, any Covenant made with a holy God must be ratified in blood. This is elaborated on in Hebrews 9:15-22. The Covenant of Promise was an "everlasting covenant" (Gen.17:7, 19). But not so the Covenant of Sinai. But the New Covenant will be "everlasting" (Jer.32:40) and thus it is RATIFIED by the blood of Jesus. Ratification and IMPLEMENTATION do not have to be on the same day. When you buy a new car the contract is signed on one day, but the delivery of the car might be six months hence.

If this is correct, then the Church is not under the New Covenant of Law. Israel is, but not the Church.

I gather that the bottom line is that the Church (or New Man) is made eligible for the Covenant of Promise by being Christ's (Gal,3:29). Because becoming an heir is effected by being IN Christ, the Gentile Believer can inherit the Promises without becoming a Jew. This si confirmed by us being added to the COMMONWEALTH of Israel. A "Commonwealth" is a league of SEPARATE Nations who keep their own political system, laws and citizenship, BUT gain advantage because of the lead Nation's commercial connections. Great Britain has a commonwealth. Canada is part of it. Buta Canadian lives in Canada, is subjec to the laws of Canada, and retains a Canadian PASSPORT.

The Church being in the Commonwealth of Israel makes them eligible for Abraham's promises but not the Law. It was made with Jacob's seed.

The Ten Commandments govern all humankind. Paul even says godless pagans can sense what is right or wrong, and do the law better than Jews, “Even Gentiles, who do not have God’s written law, show that they know his law when they instinctively obey it, even without having heard it. They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts, for their own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are doing right.” (Romans 2:14-15)

But the Law is moot point now, for it is ended:

For Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness to everyone who believes.” (Romans 10:4)

The Council of Jerusalem decided that it is Grace not The Law that saves:

But some men came down from Judea and were teaching the brothers, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.”And after Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and debate with them, Paul and Barnabas and some of the others were appointed to go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and the elders about this question. So, being sent on their way by the church, they passed through both Phoenicia and Samaria, describing in detail the conversion of the Gentiles, and brought great joy to all the brothers.[When they came to Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the church and the apostles and the elders, and they declared all that God had done with them.  But some believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees rose up and said, “It is necessary to circumcise them and to order them to keep the law of Moses.” The apostles and the elders were gathered together to consider this matter. And after there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, “Brothers, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. And God, who knows the heart, bore witness to them, by giving them the Holy Spirit just as he did to us, and he made no distinction between us and them, having cleansed their hearts by faith. Now, therefore, why are you putting God to the test by placing a yoke on the neck of the disciples that neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear? But we believe that we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they will.” (Acts 15:1-11)

There is no longer Jew or Gentile:

“if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.>For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him.” (Romans 10:9-10, 12)

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirsaccording to the promise.” (Galatians 3:28-29)

For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free, and we were all given one Spirit to drink.” (1 Corinthians 12:13)

Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.” (Colossians 3:11)

The Law is Obsolete and Replaced:

“So then, the law was our guardian until Christ came, in order that we might be justified by faith. But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian.” (Galatians 3:24-25)

But now we are released from the law, having died to that which held us captive, so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit and not in the old way of the written code.” (Romans 7:4)

“Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.” (Galatians 2:16)

You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.” (Galatians 5:4)

In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.” (Hebrews 8:13)

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree” (Galatians 3:13)

Jesus is the only way to be saved and heaven:

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed.
Jesus is “‘the stone you builders rejected,
which has become the cornerstone.’ Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:10-12)

For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5)

I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.” (John 10:19)

And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” (1 John 5:11-12)

No one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also.” (1 John 2:23)

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.” (John 3:36)

“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
