Beloved ones, we heard:

“AGAIN He designates A CERTAIN DAY,  saying in David, “TODAY,” after such a long time, as it has been said: “TODAY, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts.””

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“For if Joshua had given them REST, then He would not afterward have spoken of ANOTHER DAY. There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:8-10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

For we heard, for if Joshua had given them REST, then He would not afterward have spoken of ANOTHER DAY. So this REST is also called ANOTHER DAY, that

again He designates A CERTAIN DAY,  saying in David, “TODAY,” after such a long time, as it has been said: “TODAY, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts.

So the saying “TODAY”, we can perceive and understand as ANOTHER DAY or A CERTAIN DAY or A CERTAIN REST or REST.

Then we heard :

“Let us therefore BE DILIGENT TO ENTER THAT REST, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

So let us therefore BE DILIGENT TO ENTER THAT REST, or we can also say : let us therefore BE DILIGENT TO ENTER TODAY, by standing according to the same example of obedience in Christ.

we perceive and understand

REST that has been written, that we be diligent to enter TODAY, that we be diligent to exhort one another daily, hearing His voice, that our hearts may not be hardened through deceitfulness of sin but our hearts be tendered on good faith of righteousness as in belief,

all at once acceptance in the city of the living God, by standing according to the same example of obedience in Christ.

Selah

To God the Father be all glory and thanksgiving through Christ.

Amen

Rest. .  the literal translation of the Greek word sabbath. One of the words  that has caused much contention by changing the meaning into a time sensitive word. Like the word week . A word that was not even used in the Greek when it was inspired. It is used incorrectly 9 times in the new testament. The word week is used and not sabbaths or sabbath (Rest) .

In that way making it into a time sensitive word and destroys the gospel  which takes the mixing of the things seen with the unseen. .   again the language of parables in respect to today  24-7 any day under the Sun . No mix no gospel (a hard heart remains.)

Hebrews 4:1-2  King James Version Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

Beloved ones, let us consider again what we have heard what apostle Paul have said:

Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or OF THE SABBATH DAYS:”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2‬:‭16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.”

Thought you might be interested. To understand Hebrews 3 and 4 we must define God's REST. By examining the first Rest, we can deduct a meaning for all further RESTS.

The background of the first Rest is Genesis 1:2. The Spirit of God MOVED. That is, He had no rest. Then a restoration was set in progress to restore the earth to a habitable condition. The word "create" (bara - Heb.) is not used after verse 1 until God "created" the animals and man. What transpired in six twenty-four-hour periods was God "making" something out of existing materials ("asah" - Heb.). This fact adds a further dimension. God is a God of order, but in Genesis 1:2 chaos ensued, and darkness and a covering of water are sure signs of God's judgment. Together with the word "subdue" in verse 28, it is certain that some powerful being who was allowed to influence the order of things existed and was active. So God's WORK is both to restore the order, subdue the enemy and rule to maintain the order.

God worked for six days. At the end of six days God had set up a system that should have enabled Him to REST. This system was (i) darkness overcome, (ii) order restored (iii) the effects of judgment removed and (iv) God's new ruler in place. That there was still work to be done is made obvious by the commands given to man. They were, (i) Subdue. This indicated a rebellion in progress and the rebels active. (ii) Dress and Keep the Garden. This automatically meant the removal of the Serpent. (iii) Valuable materials like gold, Bdellium and precious stones were most probably to enhance the Garden, for God walked freely in it. Whatever, it is obvious that the WORK was far from finished, but God was about to REST. HOW could He with so much work still to be done?

The answer is that He had His MAN in PLACE. The Sabbath is the end of God's Work because He has His MAN in place.

Does this apply to Hebrews 3 and 4? By all means! God's anger is kindled because two sets of Israelites where supposed to enter, conquer and occupy Canaan, and ultimately bring God's law into that Land. A Garden was not on the cards but a "Tent" made with valuable materials was ready to use until a suitable House was constructed. Gold, silver, precious stones and cedar were in rich supply. Although sin had come in and a Garden was out of the question, God's plan was the same with Canaan as it was with the earth. All that lacked was God having His MAN in place to subdue the idol-worshiping inhabitants and to ejected them and/or their memory from the Land which they had polluted by sins.

God's anger is justified. The first tranche of His MEN - some 600,000 soldiers - acted so abominable in the months it took to get God's Law and build the Tabernacle, that God found them unfit to subdue the Land. God's REST was delayed because of lack of faith and Lawlessness. But God is not slow to react. He sets His goals with the next generation. The children that the unfaithful men of war said would be eaten by the giants of the Land, became that generation that took the Giants "for bread" (Nu.14:9). With Israel ensconced in their Land, God could REST. But alas! It was not to be so. Within 900 years Israel had been ejected from the Land, the Temple destroyed and criminals only remained. God again must forgo His REST.

God defined the six-days of His restoration as "the evening and the morning". But His REST he did not define so. His omission is glaring. But on closer inspection God DID define His REST. Adam was created late on the sixth day. His first day was God's Sabbath. He was the MAN in Place to subdue and rule. But he lived with a warning. Eat of all the Trees BUT ONE. And the threat was; "WITHIN the day you eat of that Tree you shall surely die!" Adam heard but did not do. He did not eat of the Tree of life, he did not dress and keep the Garden and he did not eject the serpent from the Garden. And then he ate - and died. But it is recorded by inspiration that he lived 930 years, and then died. Was God confused? Did He miscalculate. NO! What He did was to define the DAY that Adam died in to be the length of His REST.

The Almighty inhabits eternity (Isa.57:15). Man is puny and temporal. His day is long at 24 hours. But not so Jehovah. 1,000 years for men is LIKE a day for Him (2nd Pet.3:8). Jehovah created His MAN to subdue and rule so that He may REST for a DAY -a thousand years. Adam failed and did not reach a thousand, and Israel failed and were ejected from the Land before 1,000 years were up. God still has not had His REST. And so our Lord Jesus can truly say in John 5:17-18a;

17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. 18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the SABBATH ...

But Hebrews 4 predicts a "Remaining REST" and it is not attained by FAITH. It is attained by WORKS. Verse 11 says; "Let us LABOR" and then warns us that we can fall short and not enter like the 600,000 of Israel who did not believe in God. But first, whe is this future REST? There is only one. It is found in Revelation 20. It is a time when God has His MAN (Jesus - the Second Adam) in place. This Man will subdue all God's enemies, including death. Two classes of people will co-reign with Christ. (i) THE RIGHTEOUS, and (ii) MARTYRS. All Christians are called and appointed to reign and subdue. But few attain to it. Why? The main reason is that the gospel has been "leavened" and men do not BELIEVE. There aim is to go to heaven. But Adam, and the Second Adam are give the earth to subdue and rule. Another reason for so few entering God's rest is UNRIGHTEOUSNESS (1st Cor.6:9-10, Gal.5:21, Eph.5:5). So many Christians would be a disgrace to God and His Kingdom because they follow the principles of this world. And yet another reason is that, like the foolish Virgins, they think it is for free! they ignore the words; "Let us LABOR". And finally, there is that contingent of Christians, who like Esau, put little VALUE on God's heart's desire.

There is a FUTURE REST. Theologians call it the Millennial Kingdom. God will REST. The question is; WILL YOU BE PART OF IT? Or will your carcass fall in the wilderness. Will you be called "profane" like Esau who did not value this REST - his BIRTHRIGHT. Will you enter Christ's JOY? or will you join the many in weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Wow - you said a mouthful to chew on there! I had never thought of the 7th Day of God's rest, after the recreation, being because he had created man who had been made for dominion!

I will look at this a little later this evening maybe when I get some more time. It goes very well with Hebrews chapter 2 being such a good presentation of God's purpose in man to have dominion over all the Earth.

Beloved ones, we heard apostle Paul said:

“Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2‬:‭16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2‬:‭17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

For the reason of the sabbaths days or rests, we should not let any man judge us in respect of a shadow of things to come,

but we should let every man judge us in respect OF THE GOOD THINGS TO COME, that THE BODY IS OF CHRIST.

For we heard:

“But Christ being come an high priest OF GOOD THINGS TO COME, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭9‬:‭11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We perceive and understand the sabbath days or rests, which are good things to come, that the body is of Christ, for Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, BY A GREATER AND MORE PERFECT TABERNACLE, NOT MADE WITH HANDS, that is to say, not of this building ( the earthly house ).

For we heard apostle Paul said:

“For we know that if OUR EARTHLY HOUSE of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

For we also heard:

“but Christ as a son over his own house; WHOSE HOUSE ARE WE, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3‬:‭6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation,

In the day of temptation in the wilderness:”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3‬:‭13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“FOR WE ARE MADE PARTAKERS OF CHRIST, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3‬:‭14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If our heavenly house is Christ,we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end, that we hear His voice as in pacification or as in peace, that we cultivate His words in our hearts and minds, that we be fruitful, that we speak the word of the truth of the gospel,

that we exhort one another daily, while it is called To day, to hear His voice, by hearing His voice, that our hearts may not be hardened through deceitfulness of sin but our hearts be tendered on good faith of righteousness as in belief,

all at once acceptance in the city of the living God, for

we are made partakers of the body of Christ, that we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end.

Selah

To God the Father be all glory and thanksgiving through Christ.

Amen

It appears the Garden of Eden proper did not need to be subdued. Adam’s original job was to tend the Garden inside the Garden of Eden. To my knowledge, nothing inside the Garden needed to be subdued before sin entered the world.

After Adam & Eve sinned, they were cast out of the Garden and told to multiply and subdue the earth.

I have grappled with this question: What was in Eden and the world that needed subduing? The only thing I can come up with is some animals became fierce and predatory, and now lawlessness would have to be subdued. Thoughts?

Beloved ones, we heard:

“AND THE EYES OF THEM BOTH WERE OPENED, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.”

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭3‬:‭7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

How the eyes of them both were opened?

This, we heard earlier:

“And when the woman SAW that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.”

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭3‬:‭6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If the woman SAW, we can consider her eyes already able to see or her eyes were already opened before she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her.

But we also heard “AND THE EYES OF THEM BOTH WERE OPENED, and they knew that they were naked”.

How we may perceive and understand this?

For there were other’ eyes that were opened, that should not be opened, that should be closed.

This we heard our Lord Jesus said:

“And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

And if our right eye or the eye of our self righteousness that offend us, that we pluck it out, and cast it from us: for it is profitable for us that one of our members should perish, and not that our whole body should be cast into hell.

If we have plucked up the eye of our self righteousness, there will be another eye according to God’s righteousness, that will be opened, that we may perceive and understand the truth.

For we heard:

“But as it is written,

Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard,

Neither have entered into the heart of man,

The things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The eye that have not seen, is the right eye or the eye of self righteousness.

If we have plucked the eye of our self righteousness, the eyes of our hearts will perceive the things which God have prepared  for us that love Him.

That we heard:

“And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And if they were all one member, where were the body?”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But now are they many members, yet but ONE BODY.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“and those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked:”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“that there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Beloved ones, inasmuch as the body is of Christ, the eye of the body of Christ should be opened to perceive and understand the revelation of God’s righteousness.

For we heard:

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Beloved ones, therein the gospel of Christ, is the righteousness of God REVEALED from Jesus’faith to our faith.

Let us live by faith or live by God’s righteousness revealed through Jesus Christ our Lord.

To God the Father be all glory and thanksgiving through Christ.

Amen

Amen

If you are faithful to God and Jesus until the end, you will receive rest.

Psalm 133:6 indicates that God is so above and separate from the creation (being uncreated) that He must humble Himself to even look at it. Other factors like the Veil, Aaron's clothing and the death of men who see God seem to support that God is separate (or "holy") in another dimension. I understand the Garden as the pre-sin Tabernacle where a holy God could meet with His man. His very words to "dress and keep" the Garden seem to indicate some sort of disorder. The Serpent's presence in this place separated for fellowship is remarkable. Serpents in the Temple in Ezekiel 8 incensed God.

God has expressed His desire to have a "place where He puts His Name". This was first a Garden. Eden means "pleasure" and according to Psalm 16:11 the highest pleasure is the proximity to God. The Tabernacle is called "The Tabernacle of CONGREGATION. The Temple was the center for Israel's Feasts. When Ezra built the Temple even the Gentile king perceived that without a wall around Jerusalem, it would not stand. The Church makes the wall of New Jerusalem. I might be wrong but "holiness becometh thine House for ever" (Ps.93:5).

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
