Isaiah 61:2 the Day of Vengeance of our God and to comfort those who mourn

John 16:2 The time cometh that whosoever kill you will think that they did a service to God.

Some numbers of Christians have been martyred from time to time in the last 2000 years. The most brutal was during the Inquisition by RCC.

When Lord Jesus preached at a synagogue He quoted Isaiah 61:1-2 but He stopped until "to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord".

It had been about 700 years for the fulfillment of this verse until Jesus birth :

The next verse of Isaiah 61:2 of taking revenge and comforting those who mourn has yet to be fulfilled.

We are still waiting when will God ever show up to rescue the wise virgins and take revenge and comfort those that mourn. It has been 2000 years of waiting for The wonderful Counselor, The Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. As Isaiah called Him.

Rev 6:9-11  And when the Lamb opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony they had upheld.  (10)  And they cried out in a loud voice, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You avenge our blood and judge those who dwell upon the earth?”  (11)  Then each of them was given a white robe and told to rest a little while longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers, were killed, just as they had been killed.

Those who were/have been filled with the Holy Spirit since Pentecost; which are the Body of Christ, the Church, the Bride; OUR blood was avenged on the Cross by Jesus Christ.  Rom  3:25 - We have received atonement through his blood. Rom 5:9 - been Justified by his blood.  Eph 1:7 - We have redemption through his blood.  Stephen the first martyr ask for their forgiveness, no avenging of his blood.  What has changed over the past 2000 years which would make a group of individuals ask for vengeance because of their martyrdom.

Who will proclaim the day of vengeance of our God and comfort the mourning?  The 144,000 who are sealed (anointed)?  They are first fruits who follow the Lamb wherever He goes.  Seems fitting that they would continue the Isaiah 61 passage.
