Why has the Lord prophesied so much throughout the Bible about today?

What is the reason the Lord used prophets millennia ago to prophecy about today? And why was this data kept secret, where even when Daniel inquired of the Lord about the meaning of the metaphors shown him, he was told to go on his way, that the information was closed up and sealed until the time of the end (Daniel 12:9)?

Daniel 12:9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.

Are you sure they're prophesying about today and not some future time?

Thought history people have thought it -the end time prophecies- was about their time, yet that time came and went and they dropped by the wayside as it did.

What makes today different than then, and how long a period of time do they cover, a handful of years or maybe a thousand years or more?

I've noticed he same thing you are observing. To my understand he is speaking to a specific group of people whom he would deliver out of captivity, and they would become  a kingdom of priests as he had promised their ancestors. It all points to that time.Even the things Jesus said to the apostles 2000 years ago in Israel ,I understand as giving direct instructions to these same people in our time.

Many things point to today that would not have made sense 200 years ago.Jesus speaking to his disciples in Israel spoke of the time of the end and how his disciples would be beaten in the synagogues. This would not have made much sense 200 years ago in Palestine when there were more christians and Muslims than Jews.Jews would not have risen up to persecute the saints at that time.

Mark 13

But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.

But now, persecution of Israel's christians is on the rise especially with Israel's new hard right religious goverment.I would say this persecution where christians are beaten in the synagogues of Israel is very close.

This was just one verse for instance. But there are many more.

And there may be many more things 200 years from now that wouldn't make sense today. keep in mind that multitudes of people have been declaring the end is imminent for several thousand years and all have been wrong to date.

The Bible is not fallible but man often is since men tend to see the words of the Bible and its prophecies in the light of what they want to believe without considering what they might actually mean.

What exactly do you see today that fit in the bible? I haven't seen a single thing in my lifetime that fits into a bible prophecy. The last thing that happened was the restoration of Israel 75 years ago. I believe the next event to be the Rapture of the Church, but that could be today or 40 more years from now. So I'm just curious what you are seeing?

I can't see the Israeli government lasting another 200 years when several Islamic countries are determined to get nuclear weapons.Especially Iran .I might be wrong but I do believe Armageddon is far less than 200 years from now.Id say closer to 5 years.

The restoration of true Israel is the gathering of true believers from the four corners of the whole earth that will happen following the beasts 42 month reign. This is off topic, however.

I'm trying to see what peoples perspectives are for why the Lord used so many prophets millennia ago to describe events to occur during the end times. Almost every single book (if not every single book) in the bible speaks on the end times. So, why then, and not now, to when it pertains?

What makes today different than times past are the beginning of sorrows signs in the Olivet discourse about increasing famines, wars, pestilences, etc., during the end times, which according to Revelation 9:20, the seven plagues in Revelation chapters 8 & 9 are the result of the love mankind has for the things his hands produce. Just this summer, the world has experienced more conflagrations than in recorded history;--with more predicted to occur in our future as global warming increases. This ties in with the first angels sounding/warning in Revelation 8:7, where 1/3 of all trees on earth are burned, due to the love mankind has for the things his hands produce, which things today are primarily produced through fossil fuel burning industries.

Even as far back as Exodus,I see the Lord speaking directly to those who will reign with Christ in the millinial kingdom.

Exodus 19

And Moses went up unto God, and the Lord called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel;

Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself.

Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:

And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

Revelation 20:6 is the fulfillment of that promise so long ago with them who do not worship the beast,or it's image ,nor receiving its mark being the priests of that kingdom.

Revelation 20

Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
