What is a "meant to be" situation? Well SOME TIMES a "meant to be" situation really is the Lord protecting us, but sometimes it can be the devil just manipulating us. A meant to be situation is where something bad happens which apparantly protects you from something worse. You left your head lights on last night, and had to jump start that car this morning. During the delay, a wreck occured in the lane you always take to work. It appears the dead battery was "meant to be" in order to protect you from harm. This is a dangerous situation which occultists and "psychics" would consider important. The truth is most such incidents are coincidental, but if you keep attributing these things to God protecting you, when they may just be coincidence, or the devil trying to get a foothold in your mind, then the end result will be just that, satan will have a foothold and use similar situations in the future to control your mind.

i would agree with this except one thing. I don't belive in coincidens. Everything is a direct resoult of eather divine plan or choices that are made. Even if the actual resualt of the choices made are not redaly aparent or come about years afterwards it makes no diffrence at all.

In general I agree with Caroline. We have numerous warnings in the bible about dabbling in the Spirit world (any spirit that does not confess Christ as God is of the occult); there is only one legitimate spirit world, and that is the Holy Spirit.

However, I don't know if psychics, in particular those for example who see things, things in the future, things in other areas, etc those helping people find loved ones, are dabbling in the Spirit world or Occult. There are many things we don't understand about psychic power. We all may have gifts and powers, which are totally legitimate, yet we don't understand them and these psychics may be tapping into that. I would just never want to be involved in a psychic who claims they are talking to dead people or spirits, etc, but not all of these psychics claim that.

My grandmother was a diviner and did find water, my mother does dream about things, which have happened in the future. So I think something is going on. Many people in the bible did have visions of the future, did have dreams which foretold future events. If we can use them for the glory of God, then it is a good thing. How many of these psychics are Christians?

Very few are christians. The dreams recorded in the Bible fall under the nine Gifts of the Spirit recorded in 1 Corinthians. These are spiritual gifts involving knowledge of past, present, or future events, including specific knowledge of the Spirit world.

Psychics are people who are functioning in satanic counterfiet gifts. Remember, Satan is "Transformed into an angel of light". Satan wanted to be God, and everything he does is an attempt to counterfiet God. There are several recorded incidents in the Bible where a false prophet or magician performed miracles, or made "prophetic" statements which indeed came to pass, but were NOT of God.

I just saw a thing on tv where a lady helps the police dept solve crimes. She found a lost child.

I was just wondering how that can be wrong when she does good with her talent.

Again, Paul said that Satan's ministers are transformed into "angels of light". that is what is so deceptive about the occult world. It usually starts out with "good" intentions. But the toll on the wizard, necromancer, sorcer, psychic, or whatever they call themself, continues to grow. Over time the evil spirit that has become their "spirit guide"(whether the occultists knows it or not), gains power over them. The "spirit guide", which is actually a demon impersonating someone who once lived, eventually gains more and more control over the diviner's conscience through deception and "meant to be" situations. This can eventually result in true demonic possession, as seen by the little girl diviner in the book of Acts.

So how can it be "wrong" when they do right? Because it is against the commandment of God.

Was Robin Hood in sin when he robbed the rich to give to the poor? Yes, because the commandment says, "Thou shalt not steal." The end does NOT justify the means.

Similarly, contacting spirits of the dead, or obtaining information through psychic means regarding the dead, is a sin, regardless of the practitioner's intentions, because the Word of God says, "Thou shalt not".

Yeah I agree. There is no such thing as some sort of neutral Spirit world where the souls of the dead wander the earth, there are two spiritual creatures on this earth, angels and demons, we can choose who we wish to deal with, and only one Spirit which we are allowed to speak directly to, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit through prayer. Angels have given messages over history, but never do Christians seek to contact angels, and of course we want nothing to do with demons.

However, I guess my question is more do all people who have what would be called a psychic power be dabbling with demons or the dead? Don't some just say hey I have a vision and I see this, without claiming they are talking in the spirit world or to the dead?

We don't understand the reality, which surrounds us, for example science speculates that there are alternative dimensions, which exist concurrently with ours. It may be possible that psychic power is simply a natural gift, like being good at math or having great athletic ability.

But I could be off, maybe all of these guys claim some sort of spiritual power, in that case, yes stay away it is of the devil.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
