Now that's what I'm talking about! Cold is mid 60's.

Your description and photos look like the great fun my Texas bride describes. She is Texas border Island born and raised.

Yet she finds my  Free Florida Suncoast too warm. Go figure. Somehow North Carolina mountains is supposed to be a compromise for us.  And there is the local church body  in town that we have been led to, so that is good! Well it has warmed up some too as it is 37 this AM.

By midweek we will be back at the Suncoast for a bit. Can't seem to get settled in at the mountains for all the doctor appointments ( mine). All small stuff, but necessary I guess.

Anyway we are I-75 road warriors. Just can't hardly  have more fun than that. Well unless one never has to travel I-75 at all.

I do think we all are blessed in the USA, to be able to freely travel  such diverse locales, all within one country, wow! Thank you Lord thank you.

We in Eastern Washington are experiences your temps.  It has been 23 F at night last week but is back up to the low 40s this week with highs close to 60.  A brief reprieve.  Our highs went from the 80s one week, the 60s the next, and then the 40s!  It just dipped down too fast and our bodies couldn't acclimatize. It always amazes me that in the spring we start shedding our jackets when it hits 50 if there is no breeze.  In fall we grab our heavy jackets when it hits 50.

Yep, it happens doesn't it- to think I was raised New Hampshire tough. I used to shovel snow in a  T-shirt and jeans.

Now I whimper at  the thought of anything below 60.  Got SoCal soft somewhere along the line. Used to think  as I looked up at Mt. Baldy  from the then orange groves of Anaheim Ca. that I missed all that New England snow. Now I can hardly handle these cold snaps that hit the Appalachians.

On the whole I'd rather be - I was going to say at  San Diego- but the charm that was San Diego is long gone. Too many people today. Guess I will rejoice in just being, being wherever God leads us. It has always worked out in the past! Very nicely even as He has led me to some really grand saints for fellowship, service, and much learning over time.

I recall the years I spent living in the San Diego area. The temperature would remain the same morning, noon, and overnight.

90 degrees in the morning...

90 degrees in the afternoon...

90 degrees at night...

and 90 degrees the next morning. :43:

Wow.   Here in Los Angeles it is somewhat cool before Noon.   Then it warms up, then after 4PM it starts to get a little bit cooler.   Finally in the evening it is even cooler.... overnight hours are very cool.

In 1966 I was training at camp Pendelton Calif.
Almost centered between L.A. and San Diego.
All I seem to remember was freezing at night and sweating in the day.
Of course being in Marine boot camp sorta enhanced the temperature.

And you have to take into consideration what a Southern Californian considers cool or cooler. :) Right now it is 55 degrees at 2:45AM.   I think yesterday's daytime temp was high 70's.
