I've had several thoughts over the years that involve wishful thinking about situations or circumstances that I never prayed about because I considered them to be self indulgent that have come to pass. God indeed is very generous with His blessings!

“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask.”

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love."-Yeshua

Prayer is evidence to one's self, of one's own abidance in Yeshua  and His word(s) as one lives out the  instruction and guidance  from Yeshua to love God love and one another especially. Prayer  is  also the outgrowth of  the recognition of God's love for his own, those given his Son of whom His Son loses not a one.

Prayer means talking to God. Prayer is conversation, communication.

Don't over-spiritualize it. Be honest with God and you'll do just fine.

I like these "Prayer is our spiritual oxygen, and just as oxygen is vital to our natural life, so prayer is vital to our spiritual life. We need to pray regularly and continually in order to live as God intended."

"Everyone wants his or her prayers to be answered, but not everyone is willing to walk in love. Many people will love their friends and those who are kind to them, but few are willing to love their enemies. However, we must learn to love the way God loves for our prayers to be successful."

Yes - God is our loving Father, and we are each His beloved child. The relationship is real. The love is real. This is the basis of our fellowship and communion with our heavenly Father.

Therefore prayer is not a chore. Prayer is the joy and privilege of speaking with the Creator - as His beloved child - without hypocrisy or fear - with due respect, but without religious formalities - without trying to impress Him - knowing that He already knows us, and loves us completely.

"Now this is the confidence that we have in Him,

that if we ask anything according to His will,

             He hears us.

And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask,

we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him"

God is light and cannot lie.
        His promises are true.
        All of them.
       Faith.
