The politics are worse than America. The people are in dire straits and have been for several years when their economy completely collapsed. I believe many of the people who left the country would have migrated legally but they either were not allowed to or could not for some reason. Venezuela used to be a rich country and the people were happy and content for the most part but when a liberal, socialistic mentality became the leadership everything fell apart. America seems to be on the same path unless the citizens understand the writing on the wall and unite for the good of all not the good of the most powerful and richest. Yes, I know. The inflation was/is astronomical. One lady being interviewed on the street in Venezuela spoke up but she was looking around, afraid to be seen. Yet when US oil companies influence foreign policy and White House officials meet with coup plotters, it's somehow regarded as benign. I guess I look at things from a different perspective sometimes. (I'm not an American citizen; and do not live in the US. Ukraine mess is totally our doings.
