What were the important lessons in life that God taught you?

That I am lovable, that God loves me warts & all. That I have to reach out instead of isolate.

I have been praying, and posted a prayer request, for an older man to come into my life. To help me and hold me accountable. God led me to this man via a website I never expected to find somebody I know and goes to my church. But more than that, God made me reach out and ask for help. He wouldn't do it for me, like I wanted Him to. So, I learned from that was that God provides & answers prayer, but He expects me to do my part, at His prompting of course.

Say Little Sister; if I may add just a bit, one of the greatest aids to spiritual life I have ever known is the simple "Jesus Prayer": 'Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.' I must say it a hundred times a day sometimes! for I indeed need His wonderful mercy.

The Lord taught me through much wounding and healing that he is my Husband. He showed me that what I sought for in a husband, he could give me; and until I learned to know Him and receive from Him the unconditional love, reliability, passion and everything else, I would never be satisfied by a husband on earth because he can't give me what my soul desires, only the Lord can.

Once I learn to receive it from the Lord, I no longer need it from a husband. The Lord gives me what I need and there are no unrealistic demands on a husband (if I ever get one )
