In Revelation 12:16, we see the earth opening its mouth swallowing water coming from the dragons mouth with the intent to carry the woman away with the flood (Revelation 12:15). I would like to get a few perspectives on what these two scriptures are referring to before putting in my own two cents.

Revelation 12:15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. 16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

I answer this question in a blog, which shows the one-to-one correspondences between the events of the Exodus and the events of the End Times:

The End Times and the Exodus, Part 2

... The 7 Seals of Revelation: Testing and Purification During and Soon After the Great Tribulation

... 2nd Seal, Exodus: The army of Egypt was destroyed: The earth swallowed them. Ex. 15:12    End Times: A red horse: “wars and rumors of wars.” “…the earth opened her mouth and swallowed up the flood which the Dragon [Satan] had spewed out…” Rev. 6:3-4; 12:16; Matt. 24:6-7a

The repetition of the same words in both accounts is by no means coincidental.

Hello WilliamL,

It's amazing to me how you are the only one who in over 8 hours has a response to what the flood from the dragon that he hopes will carry the woman away is (although incorrect). Context provides the correct answer. When the dragon Satan is cast out into the earth (Revelation 12:9), he is then furious realizing the time remaining him is short (Revelation 12:12); at which time he then initiates retribution on the woman who will have brought forth the man child (Revelation 12:13). When we then look again at Revelation 12:12, we see that joy is pronounced in heaven, while on earth Woe is pronounced for all living creatures on land and sea as a result of the devils agenda upon his exile from heaven. This Woe for all living creatures on earth and sea, indicates the environmentally destructive nature the dragons agenda will have. The woman who will then be opposing the dragons agenda at this time; the dragon will then open his mouth (which is the same as the beasts mouth, proclaiming great things to come), hoping to carry away (assuage) the woman's opposition with his arguments. The earth, however, will swallow the lies coming from the dragons/the beasts mouth by showing the resulting environmental catastrophes coming from the dragons agenda.

Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Revelation 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. 13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.

Pure speculation without any scriptural basis.

The mouth of the Beast and the mouth of Satan are two different mouths, as we are told here:

Rev. 16:3 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.

Good day WilliamL,

The false prophet is another description for the beasts mouth, as is the little horn another description for the beasts mouth, all of which are recognized by many as being the Antichrist.

But to stay on topic, even if you were correct about the dragons mouth being other than the beasts mouth; the context in Revelation 12:15, nevertheless remains, that the arguments the devil will raise advocating its agenda that will try to carry away (convincingly ameliorate) the woman about its agenda, will according to the following verse in Revelation 12:16, prove false, as the earth will display the damage the devil is doing to the earth; which is also corroborated in Revelation 12:12, with the Woe pronounced that will occur on all living creatures on the earth and in the sea when the devil is cast down into the earth.

Revelation 12:15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. 16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

Revelation 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
