So adding Gates would allow for people to move about.  Which people is the question

I presumed gateways. But what I find is that walls  get breached and gateways bypassed. The protection for sovereignty over a territory must be more than a walling up and gate making at the perimeter. One cannot have a "wet foot dry foot policy" as an example, and expect people to wait in line to come through a gate.

All the rewards for bypassing orderly immigration  must be removed, a wall does not do that.   Though not a core essential of faith in the faith of Jesus, it is a practical reality that challenges safety of the flesh.

Personally if I were king of the hill I would order invasion of Mexico, just take it all over. How's that for radical lefty thinking? Course that would backfire too as  they would all then be our responsibility for care too. Dang it just isn't easy is it?

Essentials, fellowship, national sovereignty, and the sovereignty  of God, all gets  put in a blender of ideas and concerns. Perhaps it would be best if no one owned anything and we will all be happy it all being destroyed and built back better. No don't think so? Me neither.

Is not Christ Jesus Himself a kind of wall, entrance gate to God before men?

Christ Jesus said Himself IN JOHN 14:6 I am the WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE, NO MAN COMES TO THE FATHER BUT THROUGH ME?

That is what angers the world so much about Christ Jesus

Narrow is the gate...Mathew 7:13 -14

13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and and few there be that find it.

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

They don't want to except His Wall, His narrow gate , Christ Jesus being the only

DOOR of entrance concept that He is the ONLY way to get to God.That He is a wall of protection, the only wall of protection against the enemy.

Murder vs killing.

Is it a sin to defend the borders of our/other country from terrorists who come to kill?
Or for me to eliminate a threat to my family from home invasion?

I think there is too many different situations to answer your broad statement.
What essential core belief deals with this?
"Love the Lord, love my neighbor"...    fellowship/discernment...

What about King David's (pre-meditated and deliberate killing) to throw into the mix.

Thanks, Truswell...

Addressing the question of killing versus murder and the ethical implications in various scenarios involves a nuanced understanding from a Christian perspective, particularly focusing on core beliefs and biblical principles.

The distinction between murder and killing is crucial. Murder, biblically defined, involves the unjust taking of human life, often motivated by malice or evil intent (Exodus 20:13). Killing, on the other hand, can include actions such as self-defense, defense of others, and lawful actions taken in the context of justice or war.

From a core belief standpoint, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself" (Matthew 22:37-39) provides a foundational principle. This commandment emphasizes love for God and love for others, guiding our actions and decisions. In situations involving self-defense or defense of others, the principle of love includes protecting innocent life and preserving justice. This aligns with biblical examples where individuals acted to defend themselves or others from imminent harm (Exodus 22:2).

Regarding King David, his actions, such as the killing of Goliath and other military actions, are complex examples. David's life illustrates both moments of faithful obedience and serious moral failings, such as his affair with Bathsheba and the subsequent murder of her husband, Uriah (2 Samuel 11). David's actions were not always morally justified or in alignment with God's will, but they serve as reminders of the complexities of human nature and the consequences of sin.

Discernment and seeking God's wisdom through prayer and study of Scripture are essential in navigating these ethical dilemmas. While the Bible upholds the sanctity of life and teaches against murder, it also acknowledges the legitimacy of self-defense and just warfare in certain circumstances. Each situation should be approached with a sincere desire to uphold God's principles of justice, mercy, and love, seeking to preserve life and honor Him in all actions.

Well I don't think so, for He (Yeshua) has left me with the Holy Spirit for that purpose. A wall of protection might  be the word of God the Bible as made understandable and useful by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

Just a thought for considering.

ps. And then there are the angels, my own personal protector is kept rather busy I believe.

pps. Perhaps finally but importantly  are the brethren whose many prayers have meant so much and have greatly influenced my own life.

Yes of course drug usage is the problem,  or a problem, for sure. A family member wrote a short thesis on it back in 1939 when he was 16 years old.  It pretty closely describes where we have gotten to today, only he shared of it as he had  learned of it from a small town sheriff way back then, even as concern about the USA's spiritual and heart ability to enter into WW II was at a high point.

This has been a long time coming.

And here we all are today having to face it, or be totally destroyed by it.  In this war,  a spiritual war, being fought out on hard geography there are no borders, and should be no rules.

Stop the drug trafficking by any and all means, cross borders to wherever is necessary, and do public hanging of any government official or elected office holder involved  in trafficking of it.

Stop the supply and then help those that have  become dependent upon it. Can't help by making it legal and saying oh well no harm no foul it is victimless.

Drug smuggling and human smuggling should be stopped by any means. And I think many in power have their bad deeds hidden or covered up by people under them.

Perhaps a core essential of faith is to have a clear mind for the Holy Spirit to reach, one not captured by illicit drug usage.

@NConly It's a one way street. Big corporations go down there for the cheap labor; according to NAFTA, the US and Canada were supposed to help strengthen Mexico's labor laws; but this has fallen significantly short. A while ago the leader of Mexico's biggest labor union was living in Canada because of threats to his life which the police there seemed somehow unable to do much about.

Seems most governments have more people running them that are untrustworthy and fewer that are trustworthy. So the larger group gets away with to much. Whether it be City, County, State, Federal or their agencies that run a big part.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
