How would you, Neighbor, instruct your grand child to never go out and play in the highway where cars are speeding by. Would your admonition be nice and gentle, watered down, considering their young  age, or would you want to instill the fear of them possibly being hit and smashed by a two ton speeding truck?

Were not talking about alcoholic beverages watered down for children to consume.
I talk to a child with childlike understandable words, but including the whole truth of the gospel.

Hi, Well if we are to discuss  whether to be brutal in instructions to any child, or to be nice, gentle, and even watered down, I have been and hope if ever need comes up again that I will still be gentle nice and even kind.

I will also encourage that we both child and self  join in prayer for our own well being, and for that of others, while telling a child that drivers cannot always see them, so stay out of the roadways, period.

I would not have him or her join me with a scope shovel to  glove up and pick up the remains of what was once a living being  in order to  emphasize the point.

As to the word of God, I suggest any teachers that come at a young child with angry red faced dissertations in KJV only get nothing in response but extreme fear out of the effort. So yes even the Easy Read Bible is of greater benefit if a child gains awareness and or grows an interest, while a MacArthur study bible may bring nothing, but glazed over eyes and early nap time.

No matter what the place of gathering, and no matter what one calls it, I do love the corporate worship that occurs at such places when the Holy Spirit is felt the  atmosphere changes  physically and all are in awe of God as He is praised and love for one another is exhibited.

I call it church. The experience is church.

Because the Gospels are written in Greek not English you would look for the Greek translation of "church"Greek translates very poorly to English. So the origin of the word would be a translation from Greek.

Sure, and I use "church" all the time as it's the traditional word to use. But it's not a scripturally derived word its the etymology is fleshly.

I've always preferred "assembly" of saints myself. This covers every possible way we pair up or gather together.

Ecclesia is also not a particularly spiritual word either,

at least not without additional clarification,

and how it is translated is not very important to the Elect.

Matthew 22:14 For many are called (kletos),

but few are chosen (eklektos). The Elect, The Chosen

Ecclesia, from kletos, is simply a public gathering,

to hear the announcements of a herald,

and could even become unlawful. (Acts 19)

The Chosen or The Elect is the Bedrock.

Matthew 24:31 And He will send His angels with a great sound

of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the

four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Romans 8:33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect

It is God who justifies.

Revelation 17:14 These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb

will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings;

and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.”

Since we are "stirring things up"

Imagine if the Body of Christ referred to itself as the Temple,

or House of God? As opposed to referring to a building as such!

[G3485] naos=temple

1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God,

and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

2 Corinthians 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols?

for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them,

and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

House of God is my favorite!

[G3624] oikos=house-the root word for which we obtain:

steward, stewardship, dwelling place, indwelling (Spirit).

1 Peter 4:17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at

the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be

the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?

Hebrews 3:6 But Christ as a son over his own house;

whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and

the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity,

let us do good unto all, especially unto them who are

of the household of faith. (oikeios)

And the Grand Finale!

Ephesians 2:19-22 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

Mr M, I so appreciate your discernment and sharing.  Blessings to you, ITC

Did they not have a word that meant "assembly" in King James' time?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
