Anyone care to share some stories about how your pets helped you? I find that my cats and dog are one of God's greatist gifts to me ~ since right now I cannot have a husband, God has given me companions in my pets. They have helped me many times...keeping me warm and staying by me when I am cold or sick...and my dog takes care of me as well. One day my dad and I were walking in the woods in thigh-deep snow. I only had jeans on and my legs quickly became completely numb. I had to sit down in a clearing while my dad brought the car around, but the dog was worried about me, wanting to stay with me when my dad left. Truely, our animals are one of God's best gifts to us :whistling:

I had 4 ferrets a few years back. They helped me and my wife prepare for parenthood. Ferrets are exremely smart animals and love to get into mischief. My daughter is like a ferret. :whistling:

Studies show that people with pets have lower blood pressure.

I guess petting animals has a calming effect.

I love my puppy.

She has kind of filled the empty space that was left when my only son moved away to college.

She goes almost everywhere with us.

It allows me to use my motherly instincts so I don't lose my mind.

I feed, clothe, bathe, yes and even dress her in her scarves.

I teach her tricks and obedience.

I tell her that Jesus loves her and she licks my face.

I'm obsessed, I know.

I am a serious cat lover and sorely miss having one around. Perhaps, in the future, I will go to the local shelter and find a companion.

I also have 2 cats that my son left when he went off to college.

Now I'm stuck with cat hair everywhere, litterboxes to clean, clawed up furniture and obsticles to trip over in the dead of night.

Gimme a dog anyday.

I love my pets, and I'm involved in rescue. I get a sense of fulfilment when I rescue. I think it's because we were meant to be caretakers of the plants and animals of this world.

3 year old, 86+lbs yellow lab named Wrecks. By the way a very fitting name for the furball, I know he has doggie ADHD.

12+ year old Schnoodle...named Pearl, sweetest little girl, by the way she was a rescue.

5 year old 7-8lb persian kitty, named Daisy, hubby says she looks like she ran into a wall her face is so flat...the rest of us thinks she gorgeous...by the way shes the boss of both dogs.

A fat tailed gecko...whom we named Whichend...cuz you can't tell which end is which unless you see his eyes. :emot-hug: My son can bait a hook, but he won't touch crickets (go figure) to feed the lizard.

I've had numerous strays that I have taken in and cared for until a good home could be found, Pearl started out as that, but gee she is so old I couldn't give her away again, we're keeping her so she feels wanted and settled in her last years.

Love and Blessings,

Angel

When I had to put my first German Shephard down, I cried for two weeks. I never cried so much. He was my room mate my confidant my friend. AFter two weeks of crying, I told myself the best thing to do is to adopt another dog. I went to the pound and found a cute Basenji and adopted her. The problem with her is she must have been abused as she bit me three times. The third time was a deep bite, drawing blood. .Everybody told me to get rid of her incase she bites somebody else. So I did. I then rescued another German Shephard, she was 11 months when I got her. What a perfect dog. She is so good. She is 110 lbs, a huge German Shephard. The vets told me she's at the top of the range for weight so I feed her diet dog food. The ONLY complaint I have about her is she absolutely hates the mail man! She barks her mean bark and doesn't stop until he moves on to the next house. AGain, she is my room mate and I wouldn't trade her for anything. I have heard that people with pets live longer. Don't know if that's true or not. But they sure do fill a bit of that emptiness and lonelyness.

in Him;

corey

If she is only 5 years, that is young! I have a cat who is going on 13, he is sitting next to me right now, spry as ever, purring his fool head off. Indoor cats an live a very long time...now if she is an outside cat that would shorten her life, but either way she has a good deal of years ahead of her  I heard the oldest cat was 20-something!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
