Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked;

for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

Psalm 94:

7 Yet they say, The Lord shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.

8 Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?

9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?

10 He that chastises the heathen, shall not he correct?

he that teaches man knowledge, shall not he know?

11 The Lord knows the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

It depends. If talking about when they mocked Jesus before His crucifixion, (Mk.15:20 etc.) it means they made fun of Him and laughed at Him for His claims of being the Messiah. But if in Gal.6:7 where it says that God is NOT mocked, it means He can't be tricked, fooled or deceived.

Scripture is good but what is your personal opinion of what it means to mock God?

I agree with this, and I find it very applicable to deathbed conversions. I've heard people say things like they'll live it up until they're old and dying, then become Christian. To me this seems like an instance of someone trying to mock God by way of cheating the system, for lack of a better term. But God knows our hearts, and He can certainly tell when someone isn't sincere. In the verse after 6:7 we get this: "Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life"

We can't expect to live in sin and not reap the consequences. It's cause and effect in action.

So true OrangeCat.  Trying to "negotiate" with God by sowing one's wild oats and then returning to the Lord at the last minute "mocks" God by thinking that one can "out maneuver" God.

Excellent contributions. Sincerity is what Lord esteems.

I remember an elderly fellow many years ago in the mountains. Before I came up there he had been looking after my adopted mother, giving her firewood for the winter and gifts of food from his extended family. He did this with no expectation of reward and asked nothing from her  in return.

He was sick with cancer and was in and out of the hospital. When he returned from a lengthy hospital stay, I met him for the first time. We hit it off very well, and he expressed his gratitude for staying with her and looking after her. He was the most important elder in the nearby village but I wasn't aware that in his youth, he served as an enforcer who dealt with degenerates. Law enforcement refused to come up there, so he had served as their defacto sheriff.

I'll never forget the last time I was with him. He looked at me with grave concern in his eyes and confessed that he was afraid of passing. "I have done terrible things," he said in tears. "I don't think God forgives me."

I embraced him and said, "I have nothing against you. You have been kind when no one else was kind, and you have given to others freely with no expectation of reward. I have watched how you care for the rejected and the neglected. You know Christ, and He knows you. You don't have to be afraid. I know what I will say if called upon to speak about you."

He passed a few months later in the hospital. His sincerity was not in question.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
