There are 4 types of drivers:

A drivers quiz

https://www.consumerreports.org/cars-driving/what-kind-of-driver-are-you-quiz/

With today's vehicle features  none of the above necessarily  pertain. I set a destination and the 2024 car pretty much takes over, asking only that I stay awake and occasionally put my hand back on the steering wheel, as evidence I am still awake I guess.

Need to add 5. inactive driver.

It is very important to stay one car length behind the car in front of you. If someone were to hit you from the back

and you should hit the car in front of you it would be 99.9% your fault.

Mine are:

1. Very few people using blinkers. It is helpful so you know what they are going to do.

2. People going through stop lights and stop signs. We have many here who do that. I think

the best way to resolve that is to get cameras on the lights. That way it will come out of

their pocket and they will think twice before they do it again.

3. Those who come from a side road and cut you off very close.

4. People texting while driving. Very dangerous.

My car doesn't do that. It is too old. You still need to be very alert.

So you are one of those who think they own the highway?

I am somewhat assertive and defensive.  Where I live it is nerve-wracking at times when you try to leave a good amount of space between you and the vehicle in front of you and other people think it is there for them to merge into.  Most people around here tailgate, so leaving a good cushion of space is paramount in the eventual case where someone gets rear-ended in front of me and I don't want to become a part of the pile-up.

Good points that I agree with. About a month ago, I overheard others complaining about cameras being installed and operational on the highway on the way to the new campus where I work. They were complaining because speeders were being caught remotely... and I remembered what it was like in Germany when I was a soldier stationed there during the 1980s.

There were speed limits (usually 40 - 60 kilometers per hour) painted prominently on the surface of the road leading into towns and cities. Those numbers painted on the road were impossible to miss, yes? They were. For those who chose to ignore them, every little town or city featured an overpass (or similar feature) before you entered the town proper, and this was where the German polizei (police) had a very neat system of cameras installed to remotely catch violators in the act. Those cameras would take several photos of speeding cars from different angles (including a mugshot of the driver) which would arrive in the mail along with a bilingual letter in German and English if the speeder happened to be an American (or from the UK).

It was very efficient, but that's how the polizei conducted business. The letter informed the violator about their offense, provided copies of those photos, and gave instructions on how to pay the fine: go to the nearest German post office and pay the fine. They accepted U.S. dollars... no problem!

Something else worth sharing about cars and roads in Germany while I was there: there were polizei assigned to towns and cities, and then there were the Autobahnpolizei (highway police). The difference? Apart from the area of their responsibilities, it had to do with what kind of vehicle they used.

The Autobahnpolizei around Stuttgart drove Porsche 944 turbo interceptors. No one was going to outrun the Autobahnpolizei. Special polizei units in the city proper operated the same hot-rod Porsche interceptors just in case someone managed to give the Autobahnpolizei the slip. Very rare, but the polizei were well-prepared.

Good way to get traffic violations. I know a guy from Holland and he said the same thing.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
