My late night visitor..

I live in Texas.
Here is a picture of the Texas coral that visited me in my shop late at night a few nights ago. Freaked me out when I saw it sliding up to me as I was reading. Most do not kill them. This one had bright colors on the underside, top red is dull.
But I didn't like the idea of sharing my shop with the most venomous snake native in North America..
About 15 yrs ago my grand kid at 22 months old was bitten by a copper head in our yard.  He did fine at the hospital as they keep anti venom on hand. I started disposing of all poisonous snake here with all the kids activities. There is no more Coral anti venom available as it costs too much to produce and keep on hand at all the hospitals. They are not endangered..

In Washington State we only have the Western Rattlesnake. That is in the most Eastern part of Washington and I am glad.

Wow, that's scary seeing it coming towards you!   How did you kill it?  Shovel?

I heard the pharm companies aren't interested in making the anti-venom anymore since not many people get bit by them...so it's not money making to them.
