My older brother passed away years ago and he didn't believe in God and he led a very bad life. He was loving to our parents and to me, at least in his own way, but he was essentially a lost soul and was always in trouble with the police and did some despicable things. He died from an overdose. I know he's in Hell being tortured forever for his choices. I can't really bear to think about it because it's so sad for me. Will Jesus remove my memory of him when I'm in Heaven so that I won't have to think about him anymore?

No we are not going to loose our memory. We will remember but we will not be affected like we are here on earth when we think about them. Like what Jesus said to the scribes who asked him "whose wife is she going to be? This was about a woman who was married to different men.

And what Jesus said: to no one.(notice that Jesus put her in Heaven) and he said the Heavenly world is not like the earthly.

That in me you will have many brothers and.....in this world and the world to come.

it's going to be like he/they were someone we knew very far in a distance. Just like a distant relative from whom we have not heard for a long time, and as the time pass by the memories will be distance away.

And the other thing I notice that you have judged him by what he did or by his morality by his misconduct.

Do you think you have done the right thing to ignore the most important judgment according to our beliefs in Jesus Christ.

In the New Covenant even though our works stand to our judgment according to people's standards, we are saved because our sins are forgiven in Jesus Christ.  And we are free from our sins.

This is the truth in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

And it doesn't matter how anyone dies in the New Covenant of Jesus Christ.

I have also lost close friends and relatives in similar situation. It's painful and I do not want to say anything but the forgiveness of Jesus Christ should help us to wipe away our tears in this specific matter of eternity.

I take it that your brother was born in a Christian family. And he died in the faith he learned to have as a child.

I believe that our lives we lived on earth will be forgotten. Also those who did not make it to heaven will be forgotten as well. Heaven is wonderful with a lot of joy not sadness.

Isaiah 65:17

“For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth;
And the former shall not be remembered or [a]come to mind.

Psalm 9:5

"You have rebuked the nations, you have destroyed the wicked; you have blotted out their name forever and ever"

Psalm 9:6
O enemy, destructions are finished forever!
And you have destroyed cities;
Even their memory has perished.

Did Jesus forget His Apostles, or His Elect?  Did Jesus forget His promises?  Does Jesus forget to return?  Did Jesus forget His family?

Only God and your brother "know" your brother's fate.

I have heard too man testimonies of people who gave their lives to Christ in their dying moments - some of whom He decided to save from death (even raised from death) so they could go on to glorify His name through their salvation. I wonder how many others God received into salvation before instead taking them to go home. I've also heard testimonies of people who sincerely gave their lives to Jesus in secret, but then seemingly live an unrepentant life, before ultimately learning to live-out the truth of their salvation. I wonder how many people die during the process of repentance and sanctification. Only God knows.

I'm not trying to be Pollyanna about the topic. Many do go to "hell" because of their determined rejection of Christ. I simply don't think you should be so adamant regarding the eternal condemnation of any individual.

My understanding is that family is a construct God created to protect us during this life. However, once we enter into God's eternity, our minds no longer comprehend relationships in terms of earthly families - we are all children of God.

In practice, I perceive that when my Christian Mother went home, her burden for my welfare also passed. While here, she had a family responsibility towards my care. She worried for me, cared for me, prayed for me, and had a personal love interest in my welfare. However, my mother now rests peacefully, as a daughter of God in the arms of her heavenly Father forever. As long as I live, she will be my Mother, however, from her new everlasting perspective, I am an individual spirit before God - accountable for myself.

When Jesus was asked, "whose wife" will she be in heaven (who had seven husbands on earth), Jesus basically said that relationships in heaven don't work like relationships on earth (Matthew 22:30).

Reading the scriptures we learn that our works wheter good or bad follow us.

Never the bad works before us because we are not condemned on the principle of bad works and saved on account of our good works. But we are saved on the principle of having believed and condemned on the principle of having rejected the truth that Jesus Christ died for the forgiveness of our sins and died in that denial. Or in a more simple way we stand condemned because our sins are not wiped out in the name of Jesus. And more specifically in his blood to emphasize that that Jesus Christ had to die on the Cross for the forgiveness of our sins. We are forgiven before we asked and this is on account of having believed in him before yet we asked.

Unfortunately no to both.

He was a militant atheist and mocked God and believers. Our parents were also atheists but, fortunately, came to believe but only after my brother died.

I've read about the Great White Throne Judgment. I've often wondered if I'll be able to see him one more time to tell him that I love him before he is sent back to Hell. Might this be possible?

This is possible at any time and you can tell him that even now and God will make it possible for him to know it.

Say that with faith in your heart and God will make it possible for him to hear the echo of your words as if you were close to him and he can hear you speaking.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
