Is it not true that Jesus had more fondness for some apostles over other apostles?  Additionally, could we not say that Jesus had a more intimate relationship with Peter, James and John over his other followers.  For example, these three were often at key moments in the life of Jesus, such as  the raising of the daughter of Jairus, and the transfiguration. 

There is no Biblical evidence of specialized treatment, but there was a special connection, a bond of kinship with the three versus the other nine apostles.  Many of us experience this with our own children, even if they take a very wayward course.  We love them no matter what, but we have "connections" that are highly nuanced between some children over others.

Ran across these verses in Daily Light for last night showing a little of what Christ produced in resurrection (i.e., the church):

Who is she who looks forth as the morning, fair as the moon,

A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun. § “The marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. § The righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe.

The glory which You gave Me I have given them.

Hi VA,

That is a mixture of scriptures pertaining to different groups in God`s purposes. You see all of scripture is for us to learn from BUT it is NOT all about US. God`s Word reveals His purposes for Israel, the Nations and the Body of Christ.

ISRAEL.

Song of Sol. 6: 10. King Solomon speaking of his beloved. Type of God and Israel.

Hosea 2: 19 `I will betroth you to me forever.` 

Rev.12: 1. That is symbolic of Jacob, Rachael and their 12 sons. (Gen. 35: 23.  37: 9)

Joseph`s dream. `...the sun and moon and the 11 stars bow down to me..` (Gen. 37: 9)

 

 Rev. 19: 7 -8. `the wife has made herself ready.` 

Isa. 54: 6 `For the LORD has called you like a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, like a youthful WIFE when you were refused.` 

`For your Maker is your husband.... the Holy One of ISRAEL.` (isa. 54: 5)

All those scriptures are about ISRAEL. 

 

BODY OF CHRIST.

Acts 20: 28 `the church of God...` 

Eph. 5: 25 - 27  `Husbands love your wives, even as Christ also loved the ekklesia (Body of Christ. Eph. 1: 23) and gave Himself for IT...` 

The Body of Christ is the NEW MAN, (no male or female) but both as ONE NEW MAN. (Eph. 2: 15    4: 13    24)
