Shilo came about thru a series of dreams, vissions and messages received from the Lord, here is the abrieviated testimony of it...........

Right now our efforts are following what God is leading us to do here local, for local missions (mission field is in back yard, literally, well, almost, more like across the street)

Here is what is going on...

Well over a year ago, the Lord told me I was going to be involved in turning Baxter Springs "UP-SIDE-DOWN" I did not know what this meant. I have had dreams and visions for the past couple years or so about things going on. (Have been having dreams from the Lord for years, but the visions started only a couple years or so back)....

In July, (at camp meeting) Teresa was offered the 5th street mission here in Baxter Springs, it had been run by Brother McCall (offered by the House of Prayer out of Enid Ok).... As we were looking into it, we found the building was being held up in probate, that there was a search on going for all the heirs of the property... and the status was up in the air.... The lady that owns it is a customer of mine, and when we explained what had been passed on to us, she said that it would be up to her children (she is soon to be 95)... we asked her to let her children know what we had in mind (house of prayer buying it from her) she said she would... we left this to the Lord with prayer and let it rest, she called a couple weeks later and said the building had been donated to the Apostolic Faith Bible school.... And she hoped we were not upset with her... I told her not in the least, cause the Lord had given us His answer, that it was not to be...

This past May, we started working on purchasing three rental houses, right across the street... been doing work on one since then, even thou we did not take legal possession of them until the first of August... the more work we have done the more work there is to be done.... And only one of them is rented, even now... we have had a few people look in on one of the two, but have not been promising for tenants...

Mean while, the Bishop of the House of Prayer (Brother Archie Murdy) has told Teresa that if we can find a building in Baxter Springs, the HOP (House of Prayer) will buy it and set us up and help us get started here....

A couple months ago, I was talking a walk, as I was talking with the Lord, He let me know that He has enough church buildings that He has enough preaching houses, that He wants a House of Prayer... and He (the LORD) started showing me what has been in front of me for several months.... He was showing me these rooms, and well, it if it is God, it does not matter how much it cost, cause He will take care of it...

This house has a front room, a kitchen, and two other rooms down stairs (plus the bath)... upstairs (a story and half, attic was converted to two rooms) is two rooms, like in a four bed room house... it also has a back porch/laundry area (storage room as sorts)...

What we are seeing is SHILOH, ultimately, it will be open 24/7/52. The front room will be more like a class room for larger studies or even small group meetings... the kitchen will be similar to a coffee shop, with two ranges, and a couple tables with microwave and dishwasher, and coffee pots for sure.... One room down stairs will be a library with books, study tables and a computer with Quick verse (no internet at all)... the second room will be carpeted and have a bed, easy chairs, end tables (for counseling, or maybe for a visiting family or pastor that may not have money enough for motel or funeral or something like that).... Now, for the UPPER ROOMS, (catchy name huh?) these also will be carpeted, but no chairs, will have extra thick carpet padding, and plush carpet, there will be kneeling pillows, and kneeling benches around the walls of the rooms....

There will be a sound system to pipe music to each room and each room will be able to control the volume from off to low...

What I see is a house where there will be prayer on going 24/7...

Something that the Lord revealed to me was in order to turn Baxter Springs upside-down it is going to take a lot of prayer.... As we work on the house, on Shiloh, there is praise and worship music on going, as well as prayer....

Anyways... I am not sure when it will be ready for public use, that will come in Gods Timing, but we are already in the mode...

update:

Shiloh is currently being used for prayer as the final stages of construction are on going, the central heat and air unit is in place ( a 2 inch pipe 4 foot long has been driven into the ground and a logging chain welded to the pipe and locked to the unit) some of the duct work for the building is on site, the rest is on order and being built, the duct work has been paid for. It is currently being heated by two quartz type space heaters, which is keeping the down stairs real nice and the upstairs comfortable.

the charter has been received, this past weekend. the conditional use permit has been submitted to the city and the hearing will be held on Wednesday, December 21st of this year.

on one wall in the class room there are two maps, one of the USA, the other of the World. the map of the USA has service members pictues and where they are from and stationed around it. the World map had pictures of missionaries and where they are located. will have cards to fill out when they are prayed for and will send these cards to them on occassion.

Shiloh will be open New Years Eve. This will be a time of dedication, fellowship, praise, worship, and prayer..... We feel that it will be open for use and public knowledge after the hearing on the 21st, and ready for full time Jan 1st 2006.

projected starting hours of operation (doors open, and unlocked for anyone to just walk in) 4 - 10 M-F, noon - 10 sat, and 1 - 5 sundays. anyother time would be by appointment. ultimately having it manned 24 hours aday.

We do not forsee any problems with it going thru the city council, but would appreciate any and all prayers for it, as prayer does not hurt at all

we see in the news the last couple days, that Indiana house can no longer mention the name of Jesus, or Christ in any prayers said in opening or closing.... i am sure that if some one used the name of budah or dollylama that it would be ok, but not Jesus. so you see, we are coming closer to the day when it will be illegal to even mention the name of God or say a prayer to Him.

actually, i have not been to the IHOP in KC.... we are about three hours south, about a 2 minute drive from Oklahoma, and 8 minute drive from Missouri.....

I will try to keep that in mind.

only a coupld more kneeling benches to go, and currently working on the upstairs duct work ( supply and returns) starting to do post construction clean up also...... things are going great.... two windows ( small ) to replace (large window frames, with many small windows.)

hopefully the heat and air trunks will be delivered this week....

( also, need to get rid of a couple cars , a couple riding lawnmowers and a pop-up camping trailer. )
