I'm not surprised at all that homosexuals are calling for recognition for a third gender. This is the behaviour of a group that feel rejected and outcast, and the recognition of a third gender would validate their deminished sense of self. I respect their strength and perserverence in a world that is so intolerant of anyone who doesn't fit 'the mold'.

It is so easy to mock a minority. I really pity homosexuals. They face so much comtempt and hostility because of ignorance and preconcieved ideas that we have inherited from previous generations and prehistoric beliefs. The bible says 'love thy neighbour'. Part of love is accepting people as they are, without condeming them or judging them. So many young people suicide because of the lack of emotional support and outright rejection.

Do you really think the world would be better without these people? Then what, get rid of african americans too? What about the diasbled, the poor, the mentally ill, the jews, the muslims... Would we be happy then? No.

Keep it constructive people. We know what Nazi germany did to minorities. That is abomination.

Embrace all, this is the road map to peace. The trap in asserting that we have the one true answer is that we are putting ourselves above others around us. This will only ever amount to conflict.

I'm over conflict.

I'm over death and destruction.

When are we all going to grow up?

Well, sure, and my loving response to the gentleman with the disordered sexual lifestyle who rhapsodizes about a "third gender" is, Are you an actor, sir? If not, it's a monumental loss to the stage! He'd be followed anywhere, but only out of morbid curiosity.

GOD BLESS AMERICA IN THESE DIFFICULT TIMES!

'validate their deminished sense of self'. This is the root of the problem.

Besides which, they are using the word 'gender' when they really mean 'sex.' Gender is properly used only to describe parts of speech, and it is only in recent, sloppy dictionaries that the words have begun to be confused.

There is an aim to this effort to get us to think in terms of 'gender' rather than sex. Any moron can just 'compare the plumbing' and see there are ONLY TWO SEXES. This in and of itself clearly shows homosexual activity to be a perversion of the laws of nature, and the case is truly closed. BUT....to make it seem more acceptable, they can easily add many definitions to the word 'gender' and make every perversion seem as valid as normal sexual activity.

By the way Jack7, by comparing a CHOSEN sexual behavior, with matters of race, ethnicity, and disability is a favorite tactic of the homosexual community. It merely obfuscates the issue, and clouds clear thinking. Homosexual activities are volitional acts; one's race is not chosen; nor does one 'choose' spina bifida.

The homosexual deserves our pity as much as any other sinner does. We should tell them the Lord wants to deliver them and change their lives, not excuse their behavior by comparisons to ethnicity....

Think it through my dear fellow!

So this is what the Bible looks like through tainted lenses....

First, you have a false misconception of homosexuality. It is not accurate to label them a "minority." It is a sin and therefore does not deserve the "minority" status under a strict definition. A minority is a group of people that are either created in a "differenty" colour or ethnicity and happen to live or exist within a culture where the majority of people are of a different colour or ethnicity. It can also be a group of people that hold to legitimate political idealogies. Homosexuals are a "minority" in the sense that pedophiles are in a "minority" or alcoholics. You go on to compare homosexuals to african americans, Jews, etc. This is a false comparison. Homosexuality is a choice (either to walk in or walk out of it) and even if a person is predisposed to it this still does not nullify that it is a choice. Too often we have people trying to assert that they are "born this way." To that I say, "Prove it." Even if they are born that way, it doesn't justify their actions or mean homosexuality is a good thing. People who end up with MS are predisposed to it and are "born that way", but it doesn't mean they're having a bloody good time. Either way you go, homosexuality is something that can be overcome.

Secondly, you hold a false idea of love. You state that love means we are not to judge or condemn. First, God does love yet He also judges and condemns. This, thankfully, is not the role of humans per sei. At the same time we have to acknowledge sin for what it is and if we love that person we will do our best to help bring him out of the sin he is trapped in. We live in a fallen world, God judges us beacuse we violate His image (remember the concept of imageo dei) on a daily basis. It hurts Him when homosexuals, saved (struggling with it) or not (outright living in it) do what they do because it harms His image. Our goal as Christians is to live like His Kingdom is already here in complete form. This means helping people get rid of their sin lives and to turn towards God. That is love, not coddling them and never calling sin for what it is.

Third, you say the biggest trap we can fall into is believing we hold absolute truth? If we claim to have Christ but do not believe it is absolute then we decieve ourselves.

Yeah the gender definition is a relatively sneaky way that people have replaced the proper biological view that there are two sexes, male and female. If we insert the word gender than we can just define the multitude of genders based on the hundreds of different sexual proclivities and perversions out there. So watch for the insertion of gender when the correct term is male or female or simply the sex of the person or animal. For example some people have a sexual obsession with feet, is there now a "feet" gender type? Some people like bondage and other perversions, is there now a bondage gender? The list could go on forever.

I think Christians have done a bad job with gay people, particularly gay teenagers. Having sex with someone of the same sex is sin but no worse or better than other sins, which we don't get so excited about. I think we should always be very forceful in speaking out against violence and discrimination against gays, while at the same time offering them hope that change can happen.

Also they make up only around 2-4% of the population, gay sexual sin is not the rampant problem that other sins are for Christians so we don't need to always emphasize it. I mean you can't tell me that Fred Phelps is not probably a closet case, he is waaaay to obsessed with gays and what kind of sex they have.

Dear Jack7,

I think it is wrong to put homosexuals into the category of minorities. To me, that is a put down of minorities and actually it is not a logical train of thought. As brother Leonard said, homosexuality is a volitional act. Being a member of a minority is not. I believe that the homosexual groups have worked hard to get themselves included in the minority groupings. But since I believe that homosexuality is a sin, then I have to ask myself, which group will be the next to try to ride on that bandwagon? There are plenty of other types of sinners who could then use the same argument. I don't want to mention them because then this thread would be locked but I think you can use your imagination. It all boils down to what did God create? You have to go back to that. If God indeed created man to have homosexual tendancies, then we would have seen His approval of this activity in the Bible. You can read the Bible from cover to cover and you will not find it. It's not there. God showed many times that this behavior is not to be allowed. Now, that does not mean that I hate them or that God hates them, but simply that their behavior is wrong

I think we do a great disservice to all homosexuals everywhere to make them another minority. Because, whether they believe it or not, they cannot go to heaven with that sin in their life. There is no 'safe zone' for them there or any area where this is 'tolerated.' If you want to go to heaven, you have to play by heaven's rules. Therefore, wouldn't it be kinder to try to help them in some way to renounce their lifestyle so that they could have a better chance at eternal life? So, who is being kinder to them, those who pity them or those who tell them that what they are doing is wrong?

"Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind" Lev 18

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
