While the Crusades lasted almost 200 years, the Dark Ages lasted some 1,200 yrs. The Roman Catholic Church was responsible for controling the name of Christianity in a most violent way, when, in fact, it wasn't really Christianity at all. Unlike the muslim faith, it was the Truth twisted by Rome for domination and world supremacy, whereas islam was never the truth to begin with.

Rome, though, by no means has had a monopoly on violence in the name of Jesus. The KKK and many other white-supremacist organizations claim the name of our Lord. The Salem witch trials were in the name of Jesus, and the list goes on and on. Are these who you belive to be "Christians" God-man?, may I suggest to you, my brother, that these are only twisters of the Truth. Lying in wait to snare the unsuspecting and make a mockery of our God. Using the name "Christian" to try and harness it's power to control the masses.

You say that you just wanted to balance out the posts against islam, well friend, thats a deal with the devil himself. Islam is never to be defended. It is a terribly destructive and violent abuse of human dignity. Pray for those caught in its web. It is no more noble than any other cult. It is simply sin against God's Word and must be dealt with with love and compassion when possible, and should never be sympathized with.

Thinking that gives sympathy for the devil is part of a guilt complex that needs to be changed in this country and with all Christians. We can love the sinner, but still work against the sin. The only way to do that is by presenting the Truth. Yes, undue violence and bloodshed have been commited by those claiming to be Christians thrughout the past 2000 yrs, but, and here comes the Truth, never by true Christians at all. Y'see?

May God touch us all and keep us in His Glory.

In Christ,

t.

Oh Brother Ted :il:

You don't know how much it means to me to know that some one else understands this. Just when you think no one understands, you find someone does

I'm not so sure he is a doctor. I believe he's in the reserves and is career military, been in it a long time.

Hope he gets a chance to come on board and set us all straight.

Hold on here. Isn't it George Bush and friends who just had an illegal war that had no justification, as the whole world now knows, and who are continuing to hunt down and murder Iraqi's, I presume without justification since there was none for the war in the first place, and who claims to be a devout Christian. Aren't many of the troops in his crusade also claiming to be Christians as they forcibly occupy the lands of another people without justification. I have no doubt that Bush is in his heart a Christian. I don't believe you have to be perfect to be a Christian and I believe he is making huge mistakes, but God is greater than all that. Certainly if our salvation were by our works, heaven would be an empty lonely place. What is a Christian? There are many levels and grades but there is really only one requirement and that is our belief in Jesus Christ as our personal saviour. Yes, Christian civilization in reality has been the most warlike and brutal of them all. One example is Hiroshima and Nagasaki. There are hosts of others. Obviously many Christians do not understand the will of God or they choose to ignore it in these matters as they lust for power and wealth. This is precisely the aim of present day predominantly Christian America, political, financial and military world dominance ...at all costs. That's why they make up stories about bad guys and try to keep the unsuspecting American public from looking too deeply into the mirror. Christians can be Christians and still be wrong about many things. It would be nice if Christianity as a whole could learn from past mistakes instead of repeating them in increasingly sofisticated and horrifficly efficient ways. Peace!

How could one expect to evengelize a Muslim unless peace is established as a foundation? The kind of hatred being displayed by Christians today toward other world faiths is a trajedy! It is shameful how elitist and prideful we can be toward people of other faiths, when we are called to be peacemakers by the Lord Jesus Himself! Let us go out to find the sons of peace with an olive branch, rather than stab at them with knives.

Now THAT sound like gospel mindedness. Thanks God-Man! You are making a good and much needed point here. Fanatic fundamentalism in any religion seems to bring out the nuts while the rest get a bad rap. Sure Islam is not the ultimate truth, but it does contain truths that have been a blessing to many. On the same note, Judaism is not correct about the messiah either, but many Christians seem to overlook that point and don't call it a religion of the devil as Islam is called. Judaism doesn't call Christians "infidels" as the Muslims do, but it does call Christians "idolaters" and refers to Christ himself as an idolater. Although Judaism is not the ultimate truth, it does contains truths witch have been a blessing to many. Sometimes you have to respect people in spite of their misconceptions in order to be a credible witness that they will listen to. Our job is to overlook their faults and show them the love of God, not to be their judge, jury, and executioner. If we do our job, then we can trust God to do His. Who is my neighbour? There once was a ...

I doubt you can prove that and I don't believe it is true at all. True Christians are not superhuman beings and they sometimes make terrible mistakes. You speak as though Christians are perfect. You just have to look at the multitudes of differing doctrines to realise they can't all be right and many are not of the Lord at all, yet the Christians who believe them are saved.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
