Greetings.

I was raised Evangelical, and now I am gaining a testimony of the truth contained in the Book of Mormon. I have been studying it for months and have been convicted of its truth. Yes there are some things I can't explain, but I know in my heart that Jesus is the Christ, and that He called Joseph Smith to restore His Church to the face of the earth. I am grateful for the atoning sacrifice of the Savior. Christ has made my life complete, and I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is His Church. :whistling:

Jesus is the Christ, Joseph Smith was a Prophet of the Lord, the Book of Mormon is true, and the Church is true! These are facts I've finally come to accept during the past few months. Finally I am at peace; as Jesus said, the truth shall set us free. I look forward to being baptised into the Church, marrying a lovely Mormon lady, and raising a family in the Lord. There is nothing greater than living to love and please the Lord.

I look forward to our discussions on this site.

Warm regards,

:whistling: Thank you for your response. I listened to a great talk a few weeks ago called "The Doctrine of Christ." Unfortunately, I can't seem to find the link. But anyway it summarizes the basic teachings of Christ, such as repentence, faith, baptism, enduring through our trials, etc., as preached to the Nephites.

Every morning when I awake, I ask God for the strength to remain free of sin for that one day.

Then I read the Bible, or the Book of Mormon.

Every evening before I go to sleep, I thank God for the strength He gave me to remain clean.

I bear the testimony that God does answer our prayers and provide for our needs.

And yet... they say I'm not a Christian.

Re 22:18 I testify to every man who hears the words of the prophecy of this book, if anyone adds to them, may God add to him the plagues which are written in this book.

You are already judged by the Bible! Joseph Smith added on to the Bible via his phony Book of Mormon.

Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Yet the Mormon faith claims that Jesus and Satan were brothers-a direct violation of Scripture! Satan is a created spiritual being, not a brother of Christ.

Genesis 3:4 The serpent said to the woman, "You won`t surely die, 5. for God knows that in the day you eat it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be as God, knowing good and evil."

Yet doesn't Mormonism claim that we elevate to the status of a god ruling over our own planet? It sounds as if though you've bought into the lie of Satan to me.

"You are already judged by the Bible! Joseph Smith added on to the Bible via his phony Book of Mormon."

That verse is speaking of the Book of Revelation. For your information, the Bible (as a collection of various books) did not exist when John wrote Revelation. Furthermore, the Bible (as a collection of various books) has been altered over the centuries. The Protestant KJV has existed only since the 17th century, when the Apocrypha was removed.

Hmm. So much for your argument.

Yet the Mormon faith claims that Jesus and Satan were brothers-a direct violation of Scripture! Satan is a created spiritual being, not a brother of Christ.

In several instances, the Bible refers to Angels are "sons of God." Example: Genesis 6:2. "That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose." Therefore, yes, Christ and Lucifer were brothers. Lucifer rebelled, thereby disassociating himself with the Heavenly family.

Yet doesn't Mormonism claim that we elevate to the status of a god ruling over our own planet?

False. Rather than asking what Mormons believe, you choose to believe Anti-Mormon lies.

It sounds as if though you've bought into the lie of Satan to me.

False again. I am a Christian. I sincerely love the Lord with all my heart, mind and strength. I desire nothing more than to obey Him; that is why I am joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. :whistling:

President Smith then stated that the meeting had been called, because God had commanded it; and it was made known to him by vision and by the Holy Spirit. . . . it was the will of God that they should be ordained to the ministry and go forth to prune the vineyard for the last time, for the coming of the Lord, which was nigh

"President Smith, in concluding his remarks, said that if the government, which received into its coffers the money of citizens for its public lands, while its officials are rolling in the luxury at the expense of its public treasury, cannot protect such citizens in their lives and property, it is an old granny anyhow; and I prophesy in the name of the Lord God of Israel, unless the United States redress the wrongs committed upon the Saints in the state of Missouri and punish the crimes committed by her officers that in a few years the government will be utterly overthrown and wasted, and there will not be so much as a potsherd left, for their wickedness in permitting the murder of men, women and children, and the wholesale plunger and extermination of thousands of her citizens to go unpunished, thereby perpetrated a foul and corroding blot upon the fair name of this great republic, the very thought of which would have caused the high-minded and patriotic framers of the Constitution of the United States to hide their faces with shame. Judge, you will aspire to the presidency of the United States; and if ever you turn your hand against me or the Latter-day Saints, you will feel the weight of the hand of Almighty upon you; and you will live to see and know that I have testified the truth to you; for the conversation of this day will stick to you through life.

History of the Church, vol. 5, p. 394

May 1843

The United States never apologized for anything to the Mormon Church. The United States in government was not overthrown. Joseph Smith made a false prophecy. However, some of Mormons teach that the Civil War was the fulfillment of this prophecy. It was not, because the United States government was not utterly overthrown or wasted. In fact, it is still here. Joseph Smith is a false prophet.

"Is Mormonism Christian?" is a very important question. The answer is equally important and simple. No. Mormonism is not Christian.

The reason Mormonism is not Christian is because it, like any other cult, denies one or more of the essential doctrines of Christianity. Of the essential doctrines (Jesus is God in flesh, forgiveness of sins is by grace alone, and Jesus rose from the dead physically), Mormonism distorts two of them: the person of Jesus, and His work of salvation.

Mormonism teaches that God the Father has a body of flesh and bones (D. & C. 130:22) and that Jesus is a creation. It teaches that he was begotten in heaven as one of God

CARM makes several radical claims about my faith. The majority of these claims are lies; the remaining are distortions. How about you ASK a Mormon what they believe, instead of telling them what they believe? I am not officially a Mormon as yet, but this makes my blood boil. You have ZERO interest in gaining knowledge about our faith. Instead of asking us, you copy and paste nothing but lies and expect to prove something.

Ironically, CARM provides one reference to the Doctrines & Coventants. If Mormons believe as CARM claims, wouldn't you suppose they could provide some references to our scriptures? Of course not, because, quite simply, CARM is pack of liars.

Mormonism teaches that God the Father has a body of flesh and bones (D. & C. 130:22)

Yes, I do believe God the Father, who appeared to Moses on Mt. Sinai, has a body of glorified flesh and bones. Moses beheld the "back side" of God the Father, indicating that God is more than just a spirit that fills the entire universe, as I once incorrectly supposed.

and that Jesus is a creation.

Blatant lie. LDS Scripture:

2 Nephi 26:12 And as I spake concerning the convincing of the Jews, that Jesus is the very Christ, it must needs be that the Gentiles be convinced also that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God;

Furthermore, we believe ALL spirits are eternal. That includes you and me! :whistling:

This is in strict contrast to the biblical teaching that he is God in flesh (John 1:1, 14)

We do believe Jesus is God. We also believe the Father is God, and the Holy Ghost is God. LDS Scripture:

3 Nephi 11:36 And thus will the Father bear record of me, and the Holy Ghost will bear record unto him of the Father and me; for the Father, and I, and the Holy Ghost are one.

and the creator all (John 1:3; Col. 1;16-17).

Yep. LDS Scripture:

Mosiah 4:2 And they had viewed themselves in their own carnal state, even less than the dust of the earth. And they all cried aloud with one voice, saying: O have mercy, and apply the atoning blood of Christ that we may receive forgiveness of our sins, and our hearts may be purified; for we believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who created heaven and earth, and all things; who shall come down among the children of men.

Though Mormonism teaches that Jesus is god in flesh, it teaches that he is "a" god in flesh, one of three gods that comprise the office of the Trinity (Articles of Faith, by Talmage, pp. 35-40). These three gods are the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. This is in direct contradiction of the biblical doctrine that there is only one God (Isaiah 44:6,8; 45:5).

It is a matter of terminology. Obviously, CARM wants you to believe we are polytheists. This is false. We do believe in One God, which is composed of three persons. It makes no difference whether you choose to refer to the Father, Son and Holy Ghost as 'persons' or as 'Gods'. The point is, these three beings are separate, but working in perfect harmony together. In John 17:22, Jesus prayed: And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we (Father and Son) are one. Tell me, are you of "one subtance" with Ronald? Of course not. You are distinct persons, but working in common heart, intent and mind. That is how God works, too.

Christians are saved from their sins and judgment by putting their trust in Jesus for the forgiveness of their sins. But, faith is only as good as the object in which it is placed. The Mormon Jesus is not the one of the Bible, even though they call him Jesus, say he died for sins, and was born in Bethlehem. The Mormon Jesus does not exist. It is the nature of Jesus that is the issue. Jesus must be God in flesh, (second person of the Trinity) not "a" god in flesh who is the brother of the devil. He must be uncreated, not created. He must be the creator (Col. 1:16-17). This is who the true Jesus really is: God, creator, uncreated, not the brother of the devil.

It appears the writer was beginning to run low on fuel at this point, because he/she is restating their previous lies and distortions. (Which I have refuted by now).

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
