Why should women NOT be Pastors?

Mikado, Paul lays out the ministry of women in Titus. Actually, he speaks of the ministries of both men and women in Titus. You might find it an interesting read. Women are called to be nurturers of their families and "workers at home", a special blessing and ministry that only they can do.

Might want to start a new topic on the whole women pastor thing :noidea:

Hey everyone,

Thanks fro your replys. Leaving my church is out of the question. As nebula mentioned I'm 14. My parents aren't Christians but they go to church, one sunday I didn't sit with them and my dad flipped out and took it as a personal insult. No I'm pretty well stuck.

In any case if I could leave I wouldn't. This an assositate pastor not the senior one and she rarely preaches, both other pastors are men for those of you who where worried. I think may other pastors are saved because their sermons NEVER conflict with scripture but represent it very powerfully and I've heard some of their life storys which demonstrate real love and faith in Jesus Christ. I've heard both the the other pastors preach very strongly that Jesus is the only way. The youth pastor (a guy) is great. I know he's really saved. A lot of the congregation I know are saved. I'm pretty sure next to no one went to the inter-faith thing.

It might interest you to know one of the staff of the inter-faith organization comes to our church. I think it possible that she pretty much demanded someone form her church be there. That by no means excuses my pastors response but it makes me feel better that no one in the church sought out involvement.

My other Pastors preach the truth of salvation through Christ very strongly every week. I doubt you could find either of them at fault for there preaching. This is a personal problem of the one pastor not something spread through out the church. As I already stated I'm stuck anyway.

As for the congregation, the truly saved people in the congregation are just that really saved. From what they say and believe to how they live their lives. Most churches are open door so lots of unsaved people come in for tradition or as seekers or whatever they are mixed in to our congregation to. No new age mash-the-religions-toegather nonsense has ever come from our pulpit. Why there was an uproar when one pastor used the word 'freaking' in the sentence 'Americans are so freaking impatient!' i didn't even think freakin was a bad word. If anything but Jesus was ever preached we'd have an all out revolt. This is a very specific case not a church wide problem.

I intend to talk to my pastor face to face and confront her about this. I had previously only emailed back and forth which could account for some (granted not much) but some misunderstanding. Who knows maybe she'll turn around. Maybe she already has, it's been a while. Because angles4u asked it's a united methodist church. I think I may look into what other religions say about Christ as was suggested and make sure she knows. I've heard little bits and most of it really makes me sick! The pastor in question seems saved because when she does preach (a rarity) it seems biblical and she is always so .......Happy Joyful as if filled with the joy of the spirit. even after her mom died she had that joy and said she got it from leaning on God's strength. Before the church she has always preached Jesus. thanks for your concern.

Love in Christ,

Katie

Well Katie,

It looks like God wants you to stay where you are at for the time being. It might be a challenge but you might be able to show your parents what the bible says about all that you encounter in the church.

May I suggest that you ask your dad to explain passages in the bible that are being violated. You don't necessarily have to point out the violation, just ask questions. It may be that he will see the truth and come to know the Lord. Personally given your situation and age I don't think I would advise confronting the pastorette.

Trust the Holy Spirit to guide you in the truth and pray that God would use you. I will too.

Lord I ask that you give Katie the spirit of wisdom, knowledge, understanding, power, might, and counsel, and the fear of the Lord. Fill her with your love. That you give her the spirit of no compromise as you gave Daniel in Babylon.

Ok I haven't talked to the pastor yet. I'm not quite sure how to go about confronting her it seems pretty clear that ignoring it is not a good idea from the responses. What would ya'll suggest? should I show a youth leader or other saved adult in the church and ask them to confront her or to go with me? what about matthew. 18:15-17?

15"If your brother sins against you,[a] go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. 16But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.' 17If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

It may be a bit to late for that since I asked you guys but chances are you couldn't find my church if you tried off the info on this site and i never named the pastor to you. I don't know. this is a problem. What do I do now?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
