Freedom from hypnosis:

One of my typists by the name of Georgia started working with me about a year ago. She is a very Spirit-filled, godly Christian woman. She had one vice that she was trying to quit and that vice was smoking.

A year before we had met and started working together, she had gone to a hypnotist one time to try and help her quit smoking. She was warned by her own mother and a few of her friends not to do this as they did not think that God would approve of her doing this. She went against the advice of her friends and her own gut feeling not to do this and went for just the one visit.

The hypnotist put her "under" in the one session that they had. When she got out and went home that night, she found herself starting to lose her memory ability.

In other words, she was starting to lose her ability to retain and remember things - both short term and long term. Within just a couple of days, she literally lost 50% of her ability to remember things. She could not retain and remember things the way she used to.

She confessed her sin and was delivered.

Have you ever heard of anything like that?

Can't say that I've ever heard anything like that before, but as a rule I avoid things like hypnotism that could leave my mind and spirit open to suggestion. There are many other ways to ditch habits and the like.

I've alway heard hypnotism was not of God, but I've never heard of reprocussions from it, I'm glad she's better now.

Hey, I read about a cold snap in the weather over there, is everyone ok? Was it as bad as it sounded in the papers? I know things get exagerated sometimes.

hello sister,

That is interesting. There is a place where they offer hypnosis treatment around the corner from my parents' store. It provided hypnosis for smoking, weight loss, and other things.

I believe that hypnosis has an affect on you where you are sort of half way into your dreaming and waking state. I think that the conscious and unconscious mind are working at the same time which would greatly interfere with the consciousness. I think this would be some cause as to why she couldn't have short-term memory.

I am sure that hypnosis is very dangerous.

I have never heard of someone losing memory like that. And if you are dealing with an honest, caring, and certified hypnotist. Than the above metioned problems should not occur. Hypnosis is NOT from Satan. Any more than accupuncture. Accupuncture helped my Aunt quit smoking. And hypnotism helped me to lose some weight. Had I the money to continue. I bet I would have lost more. It was not cheap. And I cold have found cheaper. But it helped a bit. Just my $.02 on the matter. Like medicinal marijuana, the Word of G-d(look at the Inquisition), and chocolate cake. All things can be perverted for ill purpose. Especially when abused. A lot of the TERROR STORIES I have heard about hypnosis are much more fluff than fact.

If she got hypnotised and actually put the smokes down during that time frame, anything is possible, but more so from the lack of the cigarettes than what the hypnotist did. Total loss of concentration can be countered somewhat with wellbutrin- helps keep the mind from racing, slightly. I can quit for 6-8 hrs, but then axe murder comes to mind (redrum redrum), as i'm about to jump out of my skin with eye balls bouncing up and down. I went to a hypnotist once, that was a joke.

Edit

I know of several people who were delivered from smoking, THAT is the only way to accomplish it without heinous side effects. When God takes something, IT IS GONE!!!!!

I had a lot of information about hypnotism last semester... Apparently, in the studies that have been done, you can get people who are NOT "hypnotized" to do the same things as those who ARE. It was really all a matter of someone allowing someone else to control them. If someone decided before hand, "she can't hypnotize me"... it didn't happen. Also, if someone had been "hypnotized", and a remark was made about how gullible they are, they came out of it right away.

I think whoever is trying to help with smoking cigarrettes with hypnotism, is just trying to get your money. It has been shown in many studies that hypnotism does not offer any benefits for ending addictions, such as smoking, or drinking. However, you could easily be hypnotized, and come to associate a bad flavor or texture with a certain food... and then you wouldn't eat it very much, because whenever you ate it, the bad flavor/texture would come to mind.

hypnotism, though,

1. has nothing to do with the person performing it- it has to do with the openness to suggestion of the person being hypnotized.

2. Being an authoritative person is more influential on someone you are trying to hypnotize, than any other quality affects them.

3. Someone who is hypnotized cannot be made to do anything against their core beliefs.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
