You feel pressured to say One God because the Bible repeatedly says One. Yet in your mind you say three. God is like three people with three bodies but of the same mind. Something that reason would dismiss. Never will you see evidence that three people can think and act the same in each and every thing all through eternity. So first off, you think that God is like people (not a good assumption). Second, you think God can be of one mind and have multiple bodies (two of which he never seems to show anyone). This is also a bad assumption. So, not being willing to interpret the meaning of Father, Son and Holy Spirit you jump to a belief in more than one God. However, Christ never ever said more than one Divine Person. Saying "Divine Persons" was just an attempt to hold the Catholic Church together late in their history. An attempt that was written and re-written into official church writings. So you can keep on looking at "official" church writings but remember the church, made of people, can make errors yet Jesus Christ does not. Jesus Christ said that His name saves and He alone has the keys to hell and death. Jesus Christ, after his ascending to the Father, is indeed God with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit within Him and coming from Him. Only Jesus says he will send the Holy Spirit. Only Jesus says the Father is with Him. Your understanding seems to want to dismiss Jesus's words that He alone is the redeemer. The one and only visible God in a Divine Human form.

Hey, bill, do you believe Satan is a person?

Acts 7:55 But being full of the Holy Spirit, looking up intently into Heaven, he saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.

56 And he said, Behold, I see Heaven opened and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.

Seems clear here that there is a Trinity.

But then, Swedenborgiasm doesnt accept Acts as the God breathed scripture, probably because it contradicts the false writings of their false teacher.

The mormons always use that verse to justify more than one God. The fact of the matter is that Jesus Christ derives His power and authority from the Love of God. That is because the right signifies Love and Power, and the Father signifies Divine Love. Jesus Christ does in fact say that there is the Trinity and that there is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Only the Nicean council said that God is like people with three bodies. This is an error that persists in the Church because protestant doctrine copied Catholic doctrine. God is not like people, and if he were, only one mind would be in one body supporting the fact that Jesus Christ is with the Father and send forth the Holy Spirit just like a person's soul, body and what the person does is a triune that is not thought of as split into more than one.

This is one of the most poignant scenes in the Bible. I mean, just picture it. Steven, battered and bleeding from the rocks being brutally hurled at him. As he falls to the ground near death, he asks forgiveness for those responsible for causing the intense pain and taking his life. Then he looks to heaven and sees Jesus STANDING at the Father's right hand; the Holy Spirit is right there with Steven all the way, filling him with grace and courage.

Awesome.

This is the only place in Scripture where Jesus STANDS at the right hand of God. I've heard it theorized that it is either a sign of welcome or tribute to Steven. Have you ever heard the song "Stand" ? The lyrics have Jesus saying, "Steven, you stood for me, I will stand for you".

If we stand for Him, He will stand up for us! Amen!

Yes, bill, we worship Jesus. We believe He died for our sins and rose on the third day. We believe He ascended into heaven and sits at the Father's right hand. We believe He sends to us the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, to live in us, just as He promised.

WE BELIEVE IN ONE GOD IN THREE PERSONS: THE FATHER, THE SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT.

There are no secrets here. That is exactly what I believe.

Peace,

Fiosh

bill, its fairly obvious to anyone following this discussion that all you have to fall back on are the canned quips that you are apparently copying from the pamphlets distributed by the cult you are a part of. You are so much like the poor 12 year olds the JW's send door to door to peddle their misguided message. Once you get them off their program, they are completely lost.

We can really only pray at this point that God will graciously lead you away from the millstone that is around your neck and to the Christ of the Bible.

Of course their is a trinity but not necessarily of Divine persons. God is not like people as you have just proved. Did you notice that Jesus is not only the Son of God but the Son of Man? That is because Jesus is the truth or the Word of God become flesh. The word Son does not mean a son like with people. If you want to dismiss parables (God's very own language, then read this verse as a son of man - it is impossible - you must see now that Son means Truth or the Word).

Well, now you're making sense, bill. Yes, God is not like people. Yes, Jesus is the Way,the Truth and the Life and the very Word of God. "and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us". Yes, son does not mean like with people. God is eternal........"in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God".

Amen!

What if we could show you passages where Jesus claimed divinity for Himself?

Hi..Just a note from a new member here...Paul writing to Titus in chapter 3, verse 9 says..."Don't get involved in arguing over unanswerable questions and controversial theological ideas"...(LB)

I too have had many discussions concerning the Trinity...Although that word, as far as I know doesn't appear in scripture...The relationship between the three members, entities or whatever you prefer, seems to be a subject that God has left in the faith category...As believers we know it exist...We know it is the very power of the universe, but it is beyond true understanding...For now...

Frankly, I would rather commit one act of kindness or complete one deed assigned me by the Holy Spirit than "win", "persuade" or "triumph" in all the Trinity dicussions to ever take place...I have to wonder how many of those bring a smile to God's face or the words "Well done" to his lips...

Theological discussion is a worthy (no pun) thing...But most often if it is used to build up a brother or sister rather than denigrate...And if the other party is not a believer...Well, what's the point...

Paul said in Ephesians 4 that the unsaved are blinded and confused, are far away from God and cannot understand his ways...It sounds offensive but they are Jesus words...Don't cast pearls before swine...Better one should give them pause through kindness and tolerance than confirmation through arrogance and conflict...

Easier to say than do I know...I write this as more a reminder to myself than anyone else...But it does seem good to have some other people of faith to interact with...Thank you for sharing your time and thoughts...And allowing me to do the same...Keep the faith...Gunner

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
