I just posted my views against this action on another christian broad and got my gizzard torn out by the Bush followers and how anyone asking a civilized question in regards to our national security was turned into another fun loving Bush feast. :emot-pray:

Sorry to hear that.

One problem I have - I am a "Bush follower" yet I completely disagree with this action. I hate having to say this because I know the group of Bush-bashers here are going to be jumping all over this and crying, "See, I told you!" and and a whole lot of other mean stuff. Sigh.

But I think Ted hit the nail on the head. Bush is trying to separate the terrorists of the Arab world from the "friendly" Arabs.

I don't think he understands the Islam world as good as he should.

I just want to say that I agree with the President 50-75% of the time. I just don't agree with everything. Just because I don't agree doesn't mean i'm a liberal. I just get tired of Bush fan's automatically thinking this.

Hmmm, that's an interesting thought, the prez trying to seperate the good arabs from the bad. However, I don't think this will be possible, especially after their riots over cartoons for pete's sake.

It's one of the things he's tried to do from 9/12/2001. There are some that do not wish to see us eliminated.

I feel the same way, Neb. I am a supporter of Bush, but this decision is something I cannot agree with. Like Sue said in another thread, it is like being in a family. Sometimes our family members do things we don't like. Personally, I think our President is a great man getting some bad advice. He cannot be an expert on everything, and he depends upon his "experts" to help him arrive at the best decision possible. I too, wish he had a better understanding of Islam and just what it has in store for the world. I also hate to see the vultures descend on this with their bashing. There is a difference between legitimate criticism and the way some people pounce like a pack of rabid hyenas.

I just heard the tail-end of a story on American Family Radio but I would have swore I heard that this is not new. The newscast, I think, said that there are already six other Arab-owned ports in New Jersey and New York. Is this true? Anyone know?

I think I just answered my own question. Read the article a bit closer...

The lawsuit represents the earliest skirmish over lucrative contracts among the six major American ports where Peninsular and Oriental runs major commercial operations: New York, New Jersey, Baltimore, New Orleans, Miami and Philadelphia. The lawsuit was filed moments before the court closed Friday and disclosed late Saturday by people working on the case.

Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Co., which Dubai Ports World purchased this month, already operates SIX major American ports! :emot-pray:

The problem, as Ted pointed out, is he's trying to make friends with the Muslim world. So far, all this has led to is Israel giving up land, terrorist attacks growing, worldwide Islamic revolution, and a plethera of bad things. Nothing good has come of it. He needs to stop and become a realist.

Neb, you know how I used to stand up and defend Bush with a Passion during the elections. I stood by him faithfully during the war ...until I began to notice glaring inconsistencies.

I've HAD to rethink my position. I'd rather eat crow than keep believing a lie.

I was SOOO HAPPY when I thought we finally had a godly man in office. Now, I'm scared. Scared that I've been led astray and betrayed by someone who "seemed" to be on our side....someone who really cared about family values and defended Christianity.

But THIS is beyond me:

The Bush administration in recent days has defended its approval of the sale, and has resisted demands by Congress to reconsider. State Department spokesman Sean McCormack described the United Arab Emirates on Friday as a "long-standing friend and ally" and said the United States and UAE had a good relationship.

Look, I'm quite frankly disturbed. I've BEEN seeing things that just didn't "line up"... I'm beginning to feel betrayed. How can anyone send soldiers into battle on a "war on terror", then leave our southern borders WIDE OPEN, while leaving our main shipping ports vulnerable by hiring Muslims to guard them?

Are we not asking the wolf to guard the sheep pen?

BTW, I just wrote two state senators who I've seen on television speak out against this madness. I went to their websites and submitted my own feedback.

I'm absolutely heartbroken that we've been let down like this....what is this world coming to?

Maybe it isn't that he does not understand, but rather that he, like many Americans, don't want to believe they are as much of a threat as what they really are. I think it is also a matter of priorities. Sometimes people ignore danger in order to go for what they want or feel they need.

Yes, we are.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
