Good question indeed. May God help us show each great grace towards one another in Christ Jesus.

I. Corinthians 1

"10": Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

I. Corinthians 3

"3": For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

I. Corinthians 11

"18": For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.

John 7

"43": So there was a division among the people because of him.

John 9

"16": Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.

James 3

"16": For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

Galatians 5

"13": For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

"14": For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

"15": But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

"16": This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

"17": For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

"18": But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

"19": Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

"20": Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

"21": Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

"22": But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

"23": Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

"24": And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

"25": If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

"26": Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

Phillipians 1

"15": Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:

Phillipians 2

"3": Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

Luke 22

"24": And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.

Romans 13

"13": Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

Division brings destruction. And the devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy ... correct?

Luke 11

"17": But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.

Hebrews 12

"14": Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Peace.

If you see someone being called names, there is a "report" button lower left of each post. Click and report the post. We mods don't like name-calling and try to curb it as much as we can. But there are only several of us and we can't catch everything.

Most have great motives, but the wrong approach...and we all know that a pure motive can be ruined with a bad approach.

As far as disagreements over issues, there will always be that, interruptaions differ, and most of all words on a monitor are nothing compared to talking in person, misunderstandings can abound. My advice if your not sure what someones means, then ask them politely or pm them privately.

Love and Blessings,

Angel

Yes this is A Christian Forum and if I may say probably the most annointed on the web, but not all that come here are Christians... Isn't that one of the gifts of being saved?reaching out in Christlike love? to those that post and we dont agree with their wording like calling someone a liar , after all this is the web and we dont know whats really going on in their lives .. so we should pray them :) ..... The Lord has Blessed us with this site, Lets Bless Him by loving our neighbor :emot-highfive:

Matthew 5:43-44 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Hi There.

I suppose it might be the easy way out. But I have learned to stay away from the "hot stuff". I have never seen anyone change an opinion on anything. It seems that it takes the Holy Spirit to change us and all the argument in the world will not do it. So I stick to the more peaceable items. This is a good board. Well worth finding the place that you fit in.

I learned from my mother that Christians are not supposed to debate the truth. Just tell what you believe is the truth and then move on. Only the Holy Spirit can convince people of the truth. :emot-hug:

LOL! Everyone is different. Some are just more agressive than others. Some things are worth debating, others aren't. Personally, I grow and learn alot from a good debate. In fact, some of my best friends are ppl I argue alot with...haha. I don't agree with calling people names flat-out, that should be avoided (if possible), but if someone is blatantly telling a lie or saying something wrong, I do think that should be called. So, I guess there's just a time and place for it. Sometimes I think ppl just get in over their heads, honestly. They say something casually, and don't realize there are other ppl who are going to want them to back it up or explain it further. Then when they can't, it can get ugly sometimes. For ppl who don't like heated debates, or who aren't well-grounded in what they believe, I think it would be a good idea for them to stick to the more light-hearted, "fellowship" type of discussions (rather than Apologetics, Doctrine or Controversial stuff). When ppl get in over their head, or can't substantiate something they claim, very often they resort to ad hominem and attacking ppl personally. It's a shame, but it happens. People are human.

I HATE to debate.

I come here to get questions answered, fellowship and praise God.

But when I read a post that just blasts and lies and judges anothers salvation, I can't help but step up to the plate.

I usually only say something when I see an injustice happening.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
