I was watching CNN yesterday and this Nancy Grace person was covering the murder of the minister in TN. Anyway she had all of these so called "experts" talking about the Church of Christ being cult like. She really maligned them, I was shocked. Then she had Depok Chopra say that this shows how all religion is bad, and that we should move to being global citizens without religion all loving one another; this really freaked me out. Nancy Grace then went on to harangue this one fellow about the fact that Church of Christ thought that Muslims and Jews would not go to heaven. He said that all must come to Christ, kind of a no brainer for any Christian group, she acted like that was just so wild and extreme.

I am not Church of Christ and I don't agree with all of their views, but hey they are not a cult, they are good bible based Christians, I was really surprised although I shouldn't be by just the level of hostility toward all religion shown by CNN and Nancy Grace in particular, who after it was over claimed she herself was a Methodist. It was one of the worst examples of religous bigotry and intolerance I have seen in a while on national television.

There are many people who seem to believe they are born into relationship with God, and I don't mean born again. I have some friends who "belong" to a local baptist church. He didn't think that born again believers had a place in church. I explained to him that I was born again and he just shrugged and told me it was his birthright.

My brother used to claim to be a christian because he took his kids to church for moral edification. He didn't believe that Jesus was Lord, but that church was morally correct. I have since then straightened him out and hopefully he now has a real relationship with Jesus. :noidea:

I don't know what the "Church of Christ" believes but something wasn't right with the preachers wife. She certainly wasn't Born Again. Are the other members born of the Spirit? If not it is a cult.

I was born and raised Church of Christ, now I didn't see the show, so I don't know how the preachers wife acted, but its NOT a cult, however I do think some of these "evangelical" groups where you have to see/feel/hear/touch/speak/sing and whatever by the Spirit ARE cults. Its touchy, feelie religion, not based on knowledge and faith, just on how it makes me feel.

Nancy Grace can be quite overbearing at times. If she's Methodist, she's in with Hillary. Good luck! And Deepak Chopra, being a Hindu, doesn't possess a modicum of truth re real life in Jesus Christ or eternal reality. He's but another "new-ager" - better, "OLD-ager" - in the train of Shirl Maclaine, Oprah W., etc. The Church of Christ woman who allegedly murdered her husband, in our most emphatic opinion, deserves death if convicted. But why stay with UltraLib CNN rather than conservative FOX?

Ha, good point.

I don't watch t.v. and was on the road in a hotel when I saw it, just the blatant anti-religious bias of the whole program. You know it was as if this women killed her husband because they were fundamentalist Christians, that was the angle they were taking. "See how dangerous this religion can be, better to be groovy like Depok, and reject Christ". Nancy Grace was just obsessed with the fact that they did not have women pastors, and took this as a sign that they were somehow evil.

The stage is being set.

I think we will see more and more bias against churches which stick to the Gospel and stick to the Word of God. I have heard people comparing for example Islamic fundamentalism with Christian fundamentalism because of things like following the Word of God when it comes to Gay marriage or women as pastors. In the long run we will all be called terrorists, I think we will see the anti-Christ and his people use that view, it is already starting on CNN and with people like Chopra.

My understanding is that the Church of Christ does believe in Baptismal regeneration. Is that true?

I can't help but to watch CNN. It isn't that their news is any better but I have a crush on Kyra Phillips. She is the host of CNN Live. She is so dreamy!

Well, that explains why one person watches CNN. But why do others watch CNN? They can't be trusted as far as you could throw your mini van. And we should be neither surprised or shocked at anything CNN says.

I listen to news shows throughout the day on the radio, so at night I would rather take a break from it if I am watching TV. You know, light hearted stuff like 24.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
