The best part is the quote by Chuck Schumer about half-way down the page. :noidea:

:noidea: I know that the government isn't allowed to release information on the plots that have been foiled for security reasons (can't let the enemy know what you know about them and stuff) -

But if the public was able to know, I think this "We're going to take back security" claim would seem very silly.

The platform also lacks specific details of how Democrats plan to capture bin Laden, the al-Qaida mastermind who has evaded U.S. forces in the more than four years since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

If they have such "power" to do this...what have they been waiting on? No Republican is preventing them from taking out binny boy.

I know...let's send the Democratic war hero, John Kerry, to do it singlehandedly.

Or maybe we can get bin laden to go drinking with Kennedy?

Actually, the Abramoff one was... :21:

Tora Bora was a huge mistake, that's for sure- but in timing, more than anything else.

The truth is, we bombed the hell out of the mountains to soften them up, and then sent in the Afghans in to get what was left. This was done to give them some feeling of accomplishment and to boost their morale (Actually, we do the same thing with the French troops that are over there. Yup, the French have troops there too. Don't believe the hype- I worked with them myself. Their Gov't denies this fact, but they are there. Anyway, we used to send them on simple little missions to make them feel like they were helping too, so using other nation's troops to do these things is no strange tactic for us).

The trouble was, Bin Laden and his motorcade had already abandoned the mountains and crossed the Pakistani border before the first bomb was ever dropped that day.

So, the fact that Afghans were used to storm the mountains was really a moot point, because Bin laden was already gone before the bombing even began, hours before the ground troops were sent up the hills. We simply got there too late. It had nothing to do with the Afghans "letting" Bin Laden go free- he wasn't there anymore in the first place!

Personally, sending them in in the first place was a mistake either way. I never would have used them as the main assault force that day. I would have, however, used them as guides and scouts to augment our forces.

But, the main thrust of this thread was to bring to the surface the Democratic plan to win the war. Now, 4 1/2 years after it began, the Dems finally want to join the war.

They bring some fresh ideas to the table, huh?

Let's see....

"We will eliminate Bin Laden".

Well, there's an idea! The sad part is, they forgot to mention how.

"We'll bring the troops home".

Great.

When? They forgot that part, too.

"We'll make more guys go to Special Forces School"

Oh Yeah, now we're talkin'.

And my personal favorite:

"We'll spend more money on defence!"

:emot-hug:

Isn't that the very thing they have been whining about for the past 25 years: too much money spent on Defence?? ;)

What's going to be truly funny is how when they win in the next election and pretty much carry on the same exact policies concerning the war that have been set over the past few years, and watching them justify what they have been against when Bush was doing it. ;)

Put on your dancin' shoes, Hillary. Just make sure your husband knows what position you are taking on any given day so he can be on the same sheet of music.

I just had another strange thought: When President Hillary takes office, and King Bill takes over the UN, who will outrank who under a Democratic Utopian World? :P

The real irony is that at least one side is trying, no matter how badly it's going.

People forget that there is one thing preventing us from reaching our goal: Bin Laden doesn't want to get caught!

It makes for things to go badly at times, but we're trying. Personally, I'm glad the Dems are coming out from under their rocks and at least attempting to join in.

Maybe they actually can help out, instead of pouting about the lost elections over and over again.

If they do help, and what they try works, I'll be the first to shake their hands and give them a salute.

I look at this from an American standpoint, and I could care less who actually formulates and implements the plan that works.

We should be jopining together on this one and seriously trying to end it with victory, not jabbing each other to worthlessness while Bin Laden laughs.

We can settle our own arguments later, but for now, we need to work together. And that, is what the Democratic Party just can't seem to get through their heads right now.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
