Looks like we are back to "normal", chatting via the web

Upper Galilee is all dressed up like a princess on her wedding night.

Hi all,

Found something that might be of interest.

Regarding Kosher food, I have started getting weekly letters by Chabad who this week, deal with Kosher food.

This is my translation so I hope I got it right.

from Chabad:-

There are two signs of Kosher animals: Those that chew their cud and grow hooves.

One of the reasons for forbidden food is that the food we eat becomes flesh of our flesh and blood of our blood. The food is digested and becomes part of our body. The Torah forbids us to eat certain types of food so that we won't absorb the negetive aspects of what we have eaten. Even if the person who ate it did so unawares or with negetive intent and even with a blessing and good intentions.

The Kabala teaches that our conduct must be like those of the cud-chewing and hoof-growing animals.

The hoof is the bottom most part of the animal, it is the hoof that touches the ground and actually seperates us from the earth we stand on.

In the same way we must be seperated from the ground. We must maintain a distance between the ground - the flesh, materialistic aspects of our lives, and our soul. We must keep that distance even between the lowest parts of our soul (the leg) and the ground (the matrial world).

We must have this distance between our spirit and our flesh, the distance being symbolized by the hoof of the anumal.

There is also the need that the hoof should be split and the reason here being: When we go about in the flesh we need to deal with two things: One is to bring God's word closer to our heart and the second is to deny the negetive influences of our flesh.

We need to bring the good closer and push away the bad. We have to do both and this is symbolized by the two parts of the hoof.

It is also mentioned that we must do the "pulling closer" with our right, or stronger, hand and push away with our left, or weaker arm.

The second sign, chewing the cudd, is a symbol for a person to be carefull about the things he does in the materialistic world. We need to go over it, think it out, learn it and be sure it is a positive deed, before we actualy go ahead with it.

Birds too have their signs but we must not reley on these signs alone to dicern between Kosher and non-kosher birds. Only birds that are concidered Kosher in tradition are allowed. Why? To teach us that we cannot depend on our knowledge and understanding alone. There has to be wisdom that comes down through the ages, from the teacher of any perticular generation. That teacher helps us make the right decisions in being holy.

I would send you to the URL but it's Hebrew only

Blessings :)

Does this have meaning behind it?

Why would God not have allowed this?

SEPARATION OF DAIRY FROM MEAT

Meat and dairy ingredients must not be mixed together.

Milk dishes must be cooked and eaten separately from meat dishes.

Meat dishes must be cooked and eaten separately from milk dishes.

Angel4u, are you a Jewish Christian or A Messianic Jew? Are these two kinds of believers one and the same? If you are one of these how did you come to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior? You can email your answer to Cloudseeker673@tmomail.net

Thank You!

This is nothing but a Rabbinic law, it is not biblical.

Don't get me wrong now... when you preach the gospel to the Jewish people, one of the biggest strongholds to overcome and biggest blocks for them to receive the gospel is the "Oral Law." Once you can get them to see this is not authorative (there are scriptures in Deuteronomy that show this).... then basically all you have is the Tanach. Once you come to them eye to eye from the Tanach without the oral torah... only Yeshua can be Messiah. Even with the oral torah, which I believe is futile to argue with, a case can be show that Yeshua is Messiah--- but this is only for the very educated. For the simple person... the biggest witness you can show is to show love, the power of God, and proof the oral Torah is not authorotative.

Although dont show pride like you know more than the oral torah... respect it... some of it is very wise and there are people who wrote it who spent most of their life dissecting verses most christians dont even think about..... just say it may be wise... but not authoratative.

The gospel of Oral Law???? Where do you get this???? How insulting.

Maybe if you would just stop spinning your wheels, and stop trying to fix things that don't need to be fixed, you would be more successful. The Jews are not needy. Ours is the Torah, the prophets, the covenants, etc, etc, etc. We need only one thing, and that is to understand that Yeshua is the Messiah we have been expecting. We don't need to turn into goyim. Instead of pretending you are humble, try actually having some humility.

Shalom

The fact that Yeshua came to set us free from the chains of the law doesn't mean we can now stop honoring our parents. That we can now kill, hate our neighbors, steal or stop keeping the Shabbat.

Am I under condemnation or heavy yolk because I don't kill people ?! :24:

I would say that it depends very much where I am coming from when I follow these laws which to my mind means.... If Vickilynn is observing these laws because God said so, that is precisly the place God and Yeshua want us to be. Not a prisoner of the law but free to abide by it, by our free choice and our submition to God's will.

Blessings :noidea:

A little off topic here, but I would like to ask that everyone take a look at the link I posted at the bottom of my siggy. I am not quite so totally anti meat as those responsible for this website, but I am very anti factory farming and what goes on in there. Scroll all the way at the bottom of the page I posted to see living conditions at factory farms. I wonder if Jesus were here today how would he respond to the factory farms? Would he have anything to do with their products? Kinda makes you wonder about mad cow disease etc.

I highly reccomend you seek out small family farms in your area for meat, egg and dairy products. By the way, do not be fooled by 'free range' or 'organic'. The standards of organic have been lowered and neither of these two terms necessarily exempt the livestock from extreme animal cruelty.

Some websites to help you locate family farms in your area:

http://www.eatwild.com/products/multistate.html

http://www.lionsgrip.com/farms.html#10

also, seek out amish communities, they often have eggs for sale.

I just had to say that this has been weighing on my mind a lot recently and to run across this post, well. . . .

NOTHING but Rabbinic law???? You mean, as if Rabbinic law is nothing? Yeshua did not treat Rabbinic law as though it were nothing.

No Ger Tzedek, that is not what I said. I did not say the rabbinic law is nothing. What I said if you bother to pay attention is that the separation of meat and dairy is not of biblical origin but finds its origin in rabbinic law/edict.

The basis for this extra-biblical commandment stems from the Torah's commandment not boil a kid in its mother's milk. According to rabbinic halachah, one cannot eat meat and dairy together, but must wait at least 1/2 between the two. If one drinks a glass of milk, he must wait 30 min. before eating a piece of meat.

For this reason, Jews who can afford it, have three sets of dishes: Meat, dairy and pareve (Pareve refers to neutral things like fruit, veggies, bread, nuts and seeds, etc.). They have two refrigerators, two stoves, two complete sets of cookware, etc. so that they can store and cook meat and dairy products separately. Many who follow this edict shop for dairy products on a different day than they shop for meat products. Those who cannot afford such large kitchens, often become vegitarian or only use fish as a source of meat since fish is not included in the prohibition against eating meat and dairy together.

Abraham is recorded as having served meat and dairy to his three visitors and rabbinic commentary on the passage claims that Abraham served them 30 min. apart even though such is not stated in the text.

Meat and dairy separation is not binding on the believer. If someone wants to follow that rule, it is up to them and the Lord to sort that out, but there is nothing biblical about it.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
