Greetings to all of you in Christ Jesus.

I thought this would be a interesting topic to discuss. As we all know there are many video games out there and can be played via computer, arcade, game consoles. Many games ranging from single player to mmporg(role playing) etc. Do you think video games impact a person? And do you think there harmful ?Are they good or evil ? I have mixed feelings about them and was curious what you all think and feel about this. Lets discuss this intelligently and with a christian perspective...

I do think that video games impact a person! I also think that most of them are harful. Anything that is of the world is automaticly evil to me. At one point I swore that I would never alow a game system into our house. However, that was before they started to reproduce the old game system Atai. Then I caved being swept off of my feet by happy childhood memories. Now that we own one I believe that it depends on the game more than the system. That is the game should be educational I think, or at least they should be challanging (without breaking any of the ten comandment).

What is your criteria for determining what is "of the world"?

There seems to be alot of paranoid people who spout of that every single computer game is poison and evil, but in reality they havnt even bothered researching the subject but simply follow and repeat in brainwashed fashion right wing paranioa rehtoric they have been told to follow. Yes there are some games that I would consider to be nasty and horrible and wont touch with a barge pole and some others that I consider adult enough for me to play but wont allow kids near, but if others don’t want to touch them then fine. however to tarnish all games as bad is wrong. It is the same as saying you will stop reading all books just because there are a good number of books that contain evil things.

I was in my last years of school when likes of ZX81 were launched along with my Dragon32. Since then there hasn’t been hardly a week or even a day since I haven’t spent some time even if it has been a for a few minuets playing games on a computer or consol. These days I don’t play as much I have too many things going on to find time, although it is quite easy to give in when daughter asks me for a game.

Paying games is like any other activity or past time, it is easy to simply loose 3 or 4 hours in sitting playing something especially things like strategy games and simulations. It is also easy to become addicted to games and allowing them to take over your life, Massive Multiplayer Online Roleplay Games can be damaging to your life in that you would rather live a fantasy life than a real one and you allow it to take over your life, there are also plenty that are simply too magic and spell orientated to be healthy. However there are plenty that do not have a mystical creature or a spell in sight. I have played a good half dozen varying MMORPGs they are great fun but again can consume a lot of time. There are even a couple of MMORPGs that have no violence what so ever!

Therefore, palying games on your computer and console is not wrong. It only becomes a problem if you get involved with things that dishonour God or they become addictive and take over your life.

The Sims 2, Petunia Mae?

I played that one for a while, but the characters kept initiating gay relationships when I wasn't watching over them. Yuck. The Sims 2 isn't exactly a good example of a moral, positive game, at least not in some of the relationship aspects.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
