Iran tested an older Scud missile variant last week and often exaggerates its military developments, the Pentagon said yesterday in response to Tehran's reported testing of new advanced weaponry.

Maybe they are trying to take the heat off of their nuke program. Iran seems to be trying to say.....we're ready for the battle to begin.

Their claims are kinda like a little dog's bark: It sounds a little scary at first, but all you really have to do is punt the thing across the room one time to shut it up. :emot-wave:

Its all posturing and propaganda. Without a doubt, Iran is flexing what muscle it has in an attempt to discourage any possible military action. In the same light, the U.S. government is attempting to reassure everyone that Irans "bark is bigger than its bite" as previous posts have stated.

I agree angelic. I think it seems Iran is daring the world, "just try and stop us." Their 'insinuations' shouldn't be shrugged off, imo. They're an extremely dangerous threat to Israel and the U.S.

This is a situation that should not be taken lightly.

Iran controls (dominates) the Strait of Hormuz . It is about 20 miles wide with only two 1 mile wide shipping channels and through those channels pass 40% of the Mid-east oil supply. Granted, U.S. does not heavily rely on this oil but that much oil being put in jeopardy to the rest of the world could lead to dire implications.

The U.S., Israel, and the rest of the world are between a rock and a hard place when it comes to Iran.

Sure, they are to be taken seriously. Every threat should be, but they are not supernatural, nor unbeatable.

I keep thinking back to the first gulf war, when the opposition voices filled our tv screens with cries of "we will start WWIII if we go into Iraq" or "This ain't no Panama, these guys will whip our butts" (in reference to the recently completed Operation Just Cause). We went in and breezed through the 4th largest army in the world, simple as that.

Then, all the nervous jitters came back around just before we went in to Afghanistan: "These guys whipped the Russians, we can't possibly win over there" or "It'll be another Vietnam" or "No foreign invaders have ever taken Afghanistan, not even Alexander the Great!" (which is false, btw)...but you get the picture. The same voices popped up again before Iraq II.

Now, we begin to hear it again with Iran. Blah, blah, blah. Do we not have any confidence in our men and women in uniform?

Think of it this way: Perhaps Bush will lie again (in some people's minds) and he will simply claim massive amounts of WMD's are in Iran. When we take that little country, and find none, all will be well, right? :)

Just kidding, sorta.....

Anyway, I'm not under-estimating what Iran may do or how hard it will be to take them because, most likely, I'll have to go and be a part of it.

What I'm saying is that listening to a country's leader talk about how tough they are is getting laughable. Of course they are going to puff out their chests. If they don't, one of their aides will claim that they are weak and take the country over. Anyway...

They get wiped out in days, and then all they have left is a few roadside bombs and some lucky shots for a few years.

That's hardly a cause to run around saying that the sky is falling.

Their threats are no justification for us not to do what we know needs to be done. That was the failure of the UN and many nations when it came to Iraq II, and hopefully, they have learned their lesson.

Even the French are talking tough with Iran. That should be all the justification we need, right?

As long as some of the bigger European nations thinks it's cool to do it, true?

Wasn't that the big argument against going into Iraq- the fact that other nations didn't think it was right?

Iran, despite their threats, will either come to the conclusion that they cannot go on as they plan to, or they will be reduced to the list of formerly semi-powerful nations that blew their chance to make something of themselves in modern history.

Perhaps this time, the world will step up and do the right thing. Sadly, like Iraq, I think too many have their hands in the cookie jar, and will fall on weak knees.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
