SIGH.... accusations of racism again.

i want our boders secured. north and south. i don't care WHAT colour a person's skin is, white, brown, pink, purple, green... and i don't care what language one speaks, spanish, english, french, chinese, or anything else. there is a LEGAL WAY TO GET HERE. the canadian border is a tremendous threat to our national security. so is our mexican border.

funny thing is, i seem to be repeating myself. i've said this same thing how many times during discussions on this subject in the last couple of weeks? this ain't the first.

ok, fellow board members who believe in legal immigration but do NOT believe in supporting law breakers... let's see a show of hands. how many of you here are the racist bigots that you're being accused of being?

this is so incredibly absurd. we should not, and do not, have to defend ourselves against such hate speach just because we want people to abide by the laws to get here.

Instead of using rhetoric why don't you actually respond to what I said? Oh, that's right, you can't, cause I"m using logic and history to prove my point. Fact: Most Immigration laws have been and still are based upon racist notions. To support them is to support a racist system.

If you have anything intelligent to say that would add to the discussion or show that these laws are not based on racism, it would be appreciated. Otherwise, take the rhetoric elsehwere.

I'm getting tired of the whole, "This isn't about racism" argument. That's absurd because it is about racism. No one wants to put a wall on the Canada/US border...wonder why.

Could it be.... that there are not 15 million Canadaians that have sneaked across the border..... and their government does not promote those actions...... could be.

Wow....last week people were saying 11 million, then 13 million a couple of days ago.....now 15 million. At this rate the entire population of Mexico will be over here by the end of the year

The reason there aren't millions of Canadians comming over is that they have a stable economy, Mexico doesn't. Terrorist also have a better shot at comming across the northern border....Canadian security is lax and we hardly patrol our northern border.....yet no one complains. They complain about all "them darn illegals" who keep comming over. Hmmmm

After that last link, I was contemplating whether or not I should post a link to stormfront here. Because that last link I indeed find plenty racist.

While I do not agree that you must necessarily be racist to disagree with illegal immigration, I feel that link was racist.

apothanein kerdos - Can you perhaps refute my points for me? Unlike the other two posts you spoke to me in, this one I am very interested in, and am not simply stating an opinion based on some light reading. If there is one thing here I feel I know about, it is economics.

I used to sneak across the border back in the 80s when I would gig in border towns. Apparently the USA stays open a little later than Canada, so we would go across to drink cheap beer and eat cheap food. :th_praying:

It's way too crowded for my liking though. I'll stay here. :emot-hug:

Not a problem...before I do though:

People are talking about your age. I didn't see it, but I'm assuming you're in high school? Is that true? If so, are you in debate or forensics? Just asking out of my own curiousity, it has little to do with what I'll think of your opinion. I judge opinions based upon information and facts within them, not on the age of the person giving them.

As for refuting your points...from what I gather you aren't against illegal immigration and see them as benefiting the economy. If so, what is there for me to refute? I'm confused as to where exactly you and I disagree on this.

I am in high school. I graduate this year. I am in debate, and am a member of the NFL...man I love saying that. :th_praying:

I just assumed. Because everybody is telling me I know nothing, that my arguments are so abysmal, and that I know nothing of economics, yet nobody actualy bothers to tell me why. I therefore wish to know why. If they are so bad, then even if you agree with me you should still point it out that I am wrong so that I can hold my view for correct reasons.

Now, if my arguments are not horrible, are valid, and I do know what I am talking about, then why is everybody saying otherwise?

Cool. Our state does it different than Texas, our debate season is August - December and our Forensics season is January - April. I've already qualified four of my kids and I'm hoping to qualify more at our forensics qualifier this weekend. Good luck this year in debate though.

As for the topic....I don't know where we disagreed honestly...I'm for limited Amnesty, easier immigration laws, and almost an open border.

Illegal immigration seems to be a hot topic lately. The media, our president, and the Senate paints a pretty picture regarding illegal immigration. But there is a darker side. Check out the flash intro at the following site. Warning...there are obscene gestures and profanity by those who apparently hate us and the way our country is today. And hate our founding fathers. They say we are here illegally. Some are holding signs that we should not be in this country and they want "whites" to go back to Europe.

We should not be racist or hateful toward Mexicans. Legal Mexican immigrants are more than welcome in our country. They have become citizens by legal means. It is those who enter the country illegally and expect the same priviledges of citizenship as everyone else who cause the problem. And if a government such as ours allows this to happen, then there is also a problem. Our economy is already overburdened. We have a record national debt and a record trade deficit. If amnesty is granted, it could be the "nail in the coffin" that causes an eventual economic collapse in our country. ;)

One should not forget that Hispanics are not the ONLY 'Undocumented' workers in this country. It seems to be a natural assumption, but there are more "Undocumented" workers from other countries. As I recall the numbers, Mexicans only make up about 45% of the total. There are about as many from Canada, and then of course the Asians, Arabs, Europeans, etc............

However, it is true, we MUST do something BESIDES giving anmesty again. Fine and Jail employers, HARD CORE FINES AND PRISON SENTENCES, not just slap on the wrist ouuwey type fines. And deport the illegals as they are found (the first time anyway)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
