President Bush on Tuesday ordered a temporary suspension of environmental rules for gasoline, making it easier for refiners to meet demand and possibly dampen prices at the pump. He also halted for the summer the purchase of crude oil for the government's emergency reserve.

You can thank the tree huggers like Al Gore and his lot for imposing draconian measures upon the oil industry. They are also the same ones who will be against drilling in Alaska while that we continue to buy oil from rogue nations such as Iran.

Well we have to have enviromental protection to a point...afterall, why drive in air you can't breath? At the same time, that is used as a smokescreen. If you build multiple refineries with tight enviromental controls, though they may produce less, you still make cheaper gas. For example (these are hypothetical numbers):

Let's assume a refinery without enviromental protection produces 100 barrels a day. A refinery with laws produces only 50. At the same time, without protection we have 10 refineries...thus we are producing 1,000 barrels a day. Let's assume we place the regulations on now, but there are 30 refineries. We now have 1,500 refineries thus cheaper gas and less pollution. Another thing to do is offer incentives to factories, car lots, and consumers that make, sell, and buy hybrid cars. This would inevitably make it cheaper to buy a hybrid and thus more adventageous.

There's a lot that could be done but simply won't be because people (oil execs) won't cave in and lose the money.

Do you understand what oil drilling Alaska will do to Alaska?

Did you know Bush tried to sneak in oil drilling Alaska into the emergency bill to help victims of the war and Katrina, when it should not have been snuck in there as a hidden agenda, under an inappropiate title?

Do you know that do to a minor detail in how the most ancient Sequoias are not in the park from a paperwork neglection, that Bush plans to have them all cut down? It is true. They are not under protection and no excuses for this one.

Greedily people are looking through all they can find and hastily trying to exploite the enviroment when they should be protecting it and busy wiht human matters.

It is not the Bush against Gore , that is not the reasoning. There is far more than the democratic vs republican agenda here.

As long as people can be decieved into thinking it is all about dempcratic and rupublic they will miss the entire point and need of the environment and alot more.

We don't need to go haywire on the environment.

God made the trees, I hardly call it a sterotypical "tree hugger" to want to care for the earth that God has made, seems tp me God told Adam it was his job to care for creation. As care takers, we are not seperate from our God made and given environment, as so many seem to think whikle they sit in their homes away from the things God has made and keep dissorder inside and the sun out side.

Anyone recall the scriptures where it says , I will destroy those who are destroying the earth? How about where the angel is asked to hurt not the trees, after loosing part of creation?

I don't find being a conservative, to mean, playing into the hands of people who destroy the environment.

God help us.

Mexico drills and finds oil in the gulf where OUR elected officials refused to allow us to drill.

China drills for oil 70 miles off the Florida coast.

Where OUR elected officials refused to allow us to drill.

Come on people!

Someone is going to get the oil whether we like it on our coastlines or not.

Why just give it away when it can be ours?

Oil is a short term solution. Go ahead and drill, but oil costs won't go down until we have a better way to refine it. Secondly, oil won't last us forever, so it simply makes more sense to go into renuable energy which, in the end, will make everyone more money.

If we would have been allowed to drill in Anwar 10 years ago, like we wanted to, then we would have that oil NOW!

And what about 20 years from now? How would you refine the massive influx of oil? The problem is refineries, not a lack of oil. Likewise, as I stated, drilling is only a temporary solution to something that will be a long term problem. We should have got the hint in the 70's.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
