I had a friend who was a little skeptical about Christians. Then one day he called in on some TBN station and they sent him a postcard saying "If you send us $35 then I can promise you God will give you ten-fold that in the near future". After he got that then he told me he will never consider Christianity again.

Sad really (but I still pray for him).

This is what burdens me the most about these kinds of minstries. The very fact that sometimes it's the people who most need the Lord that are completely turned away from him by the these kinds of things. If a skeptical person has this notion that Religious people and ministries are all about the money these kinds of things may turn that person away from possibly ever having a relationship with Christ. It makes me sad. Keep praying for your friend Sally. The prayers of a rightious person can do much.

I would like to share this recolection of something that happened when I was young. They opened a station in the city where we lived. I remeber becuase going to the the ceremony was a big thing for us. We toured the facility and the kids all received this big thing of gum. (back then that was a treat for a kid :) ) I remeber that at that time my gramdnother gave a sum of money to TBN for an anuity. I don't remember exactly how much it was but I know for her being a widow it was a sacrifice for her at that time. When she wanted to make use of it later on she never had it returned to her. I don't know the circumstance about her never getting it back but I do remember that my mom and my aunt were very bitter towards TBN for some time after that. My grandmother forgive TBN and I remeber that she told my aunt and mom just to let it go as a donation.

There was an expose' on one of the main TV channels of some of the older people that had been giving their grocery money to some of the ministries. When asked how they got by many of the older people admitted they had been eating canned dog food. I saw this one with my own eyes and don't believe it was made up. This too is so sad. These older people giving all they have and having nothing to eat themselves while the preachers eat steak.

There was also an article some years back in Time magazine I believe it was, that basically said the same thing. Utility bills not paid, etc. becuase they were sending in their seed. After reading the aritcle I was sad and mad at the same time. I can't fathom how these televangelist can take advanteage of people like that. I often wonder if they have any remorse for what they do. How can they live with themselves?

You know, it would be interesting if there could be a poll done with people who support these "ministries" and go to these churches and ask how many have received financial return fo their seed money, and how many are not finding themselves so "blessed" for their giving (of course, you'd have to add the word "yet" to the pole so they don't fel like they are having a faith problem).

My mother gave $ to the Jim Baker and the Heritage fiasco. After all these years she got a check last week from a class action lawsuit for $6.48. Case Closed.

Did anyone see Tammy Faye on Greta Van Susteran's show last night on Fox news. She hasn't changed much. She seemed sincere and remorseful and a little :) She has also remarried. She was their pushing a new book. Geta asked her what her number one wish is and Tammy Faye said " To start another television ministry." :)

I saw Tammy Faye on Larry King the other night. I do believe the woman loves Jesus. She spoke many times on how He was all she had during the many trials of her life. I did here a lot of WoF teaching coming from her.

She still blames Jerry Falwell for them losing PTL. She did a tour of what was to be Heritage Village while on Larry King. She believes it was a great idea.

I did find out from her that her ex Jim has moved to Branson Missouri and is back on T.V. I just really pray that he is not getting back into the old ways. I just got his book "Prosperity and the coming Apocalypse." In it he talks about all the wrong he did teaching WoF.

Tammy is planning to be back on T.V too, I didn't catch what she will be doing though. Why don't she just give it up and retire somewhere quiet. Who wants to see her on anything? Not I!!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
