There was an expose' on one of the main TV channels of some of the older people that had been giving their grocery money to some of the ministries. When asked how they got by many of the older people admitted they had been eating canned dog food. I saw this one with my own eyes and don't believe it was made up. This too is so sad. These older people giving all they have and having nothing to eat themselves while the preachers eat steak.

There was also an article some years back in Time magazine I believe it was, that basically said the same thing. Utility bills not paid, etc. becuase they were sending in their seed. After reading the aritcle I was sad and mad at the same time. I can't fathom how these televangelist can take advanteage of people like that. I often wonder if they have any remorse for what they do. How can they live with themselves?

This causes me to wonder whether any of those televangelists saw the article and tried returning the money so that the person could pay their bils.

I saw Rod Parsley mentioned earlier and I don't remember who did, but they talked about his "being on fire for God." I still lump him in with Copeland, Duplantis, et. al. I think I expounded on his "debt burning service" already, but he decided one day to pray for all of those who couldn't have children. You were to step out in faith and send him a baby blanket (and, though I didn't see all of it, probably your best love offering) and he would pray over it and God would give you a baby. How does he know the will of God? How does he know that God has it in His will for you to have a baby? Is it not possible that God want somes of these couples to adopt? What happens when you send in this baby blanket and don't have a baby? How many people are going to turn their back on God because of that?

I have never made a secret of the fact that I never cared for Rod Parsley. I consider him WOF also. It is funny now, but it wasn't at the time this happened. I was still in the WOF and one of our friends (female) went to a Rod Parsley meeting where is he at up in Ohio? I don't remember; anyway, when she got back she started telling me about Parsley's meeting and how he had prayed for women who were barren. Well, we had two children and this lady raised her hand over me and started to pray the prayer that Parsley had prayed and I jumped over my chair getting away from her. I really believed that I would have another child if she prayed for me. We owned a huge two story gingerbread home at that time and when I jumped over the chair I didn't stop until I was in our hallway far, far away from everyone else. I was shaking I believed that so very much. To tell you the truth that event is so firmly planted in my mind that I am still not sure if I would have had another kid or not. I had only been out of the hospital two years from having a total, complete hystectomy, but All I could see was Sara in my minds eye when this lady raised her hands to pray for me. There were a lot of people at the house at that time for Bible study and the whole room was in an uproar laughing at me. That part is funny to me now.

The actual truth of praying for women wanting children is so sad since these people's prayer is not sincere. That is sadistic to raise these women's hope of having a child by praying over a baby blanket.

You know, it would be interesting if there could be a poll done with people who support these "ministries" and go to these churches and ask how many have received financial return fo their seed money, and how many are not finding themselves so "blessed" for their giving (of course, you'd have to add the word "yet" to the pole so they don't fel like they are having a faith problem).

Patsy - Some poor old people gave their food money to these WOF people and then had to eat canned DOG FOOD..God forbid! oh my oh dear I just shudder to think what dicipline awaits these thieves.

How can these people sleep at night!

Hi mom2three,

It just saddens me so much to see these poor people being duped out of their money that the Lord has blessed them with to live on.

You would think that with all their (WOF teachers) 'so called' knowledge that they would know they are but standing on a precipice and at any given moment our Lord could snuff them out in 'the twinkling of an eye.

Yet their heart is so attached to the things of this world and has obviously blinded them and it seems to me they will use any means to get $'s.

Reminds me of a documentary I saw once on Adolf Hitler. He was travelling in his very up-market flashy train going somewhere and the time he was eating his dinner and drinking from his crystal goblet glass and his train passed another train going in the opposite direction (both cars were travelling at a slow pace) carry Jews to their death. The Jews were crammed into these rail-cars in such squalor and filth with men/women/children dying starving and in desparation eating their own feaces.

As Hitlers rail car passed by he said to one of his henchmen, "Oh look entertainment" and to this other persons utter surprise Hitler seemed to enjoy eating his food even more while looking at the Jews.

Our God is a God of Justice and when the time comes He will mete out that justice accordingly Amen!

Neb that sounds great are you going to put the pole up or does the administration have to do this? I will vote.
