I commented on how important it is to correct that view and 2 people took it personally and got offended. Perhaps they are convicted, or not. All I wanted to do was bring up the point as Dave summed up quite nicely. Ive seen many come into chat who are lost and they believe that for all it is a fiction, the Da Vinci code presents a true view of Jesus. We are commanded to spread the gospel. I know I dont do a good enough job of it. This book is another lie of the devil that is as good at misdirecting people from the Lord as any false religion out there. Once the facts asserted by the book are discovered, we then will take them through an evaluation process to determine the actual factualness of the material. Here is a general outline: Week One: What can History Really Tell Us? We will look at some "fact claims" made by the book. For example, on p. 1 these items are listed as FACT a. The Priority of Sion was a real organization founded in 1099 b. in 1975 Paris' Bibliotheque Nationale discovered parchments known as Les Dossiers Secrets identifying numerous members of the Priority of Sion including Sir Isaac Newton, Botticelli, Victor Hugo, and Leonardo da Vinci c. The Vatican prelature known as Opus Dei is a deeply devout Catholic Sect Only one of the above statements is true

As with about all the other works claiming to bring information in addition to the Bible, the Da Vinci code uses materials that were written long after Christ's time, and the writing of the New Testament. Why should anyone believe them. If anyone wants to read it, I provide additional opinions on an article I wrote: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/3...vinci_code.html MikeWhite
