Okay let us start this off with some patterns or directions of God...

WHAT IS THE FIRST THING JESUS CHRIST SAYS TO DO?

Jesus Christ began his ministry and he is the one we should listen to first of all. Agree?

Also it would be wise to start with the things he said to do first and not second or third.

Please give scriptures so we can all share.

What was the gospel Jesus Christ preached and taught?

What is everyone told to do FIRST?

Jesus tells us what the first thing is and how to acquire it, can you?

How did Jesus say to go about doing this?

What did Jesus say would happen if we don

And after John had been taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel."

Mark 1:15 NASB

And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And He opened the book, and found the place where it was written, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are downtrodden, To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord."

Luke 1:17-19 NASB

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.

John 3:16 NASB

For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the judgment, that the light is come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who practices the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.

John 3:17-21 NASB

From that time Jesus began to preach and say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

Matthew 4:17 NASB

Not everyone who says to Me, "Lord, Lord," will enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. Many will say to Me on that day, "Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?" And then I will declare to them, "I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness."

Matthew 7:21-23

1.Sinners prayer, or confessing your sins and asking for forgiveness for salvation? Sorry, NOT there!

The only place after the death of Christ where people are told to confess their sins to God, it is in 1John 1:9. This portion of scripture was not written to the unborn again believers but those who are already born again believers. You can look as much as you like but you will not find one single place where unborn again people are told to confess their sins to God for forgiveness.

Rom 10:9-10 says to confess Jesus as your Lord and the one you will follow and obey.

Luk 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Luk 17:4 And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.

Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Without repentance we cannot be saved. To Repent is to confess our wrong-doing to the one we afflict and our actions should bear it out. Luke suggests that even when our actions dont bear us out, the confession may nevertheless be genuine and should be forgiven.

While one might argue then that with Jesus this is an ongoing practice for the maintenance of salvation, according to acts we should then be baptised everytime we repent, making it a daily ritual. Other scriptures tell us that repentance unto Christ comes through belief, faith in Jesus. Paul and Silas tell us in Acts 16 "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you WILL be saved" Peter tells us that Christ died "once for all". The scriptures mentioned above would suggest that indeed repentance unto God for salvation requires a confession of sin and Godlessness, offering the blood of Christ in our stead for the remission of our sins. At which time, as other passages tell us, we are dead and risen in Christ and baptised in the Holy Spirit, the outward symbol of which is water baptism, a ritual to be performed just once.

Adendem:

Cant believe I missed this one too...

Rom 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, [even] in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Repentance unto God requires confession of our sin to show that we recognise our error. I might ask you preacher, did you ask the Lord for salvation or did you wait for it to fall into your lap? When that repentance unto salvation is rewared with the gift of eternal life, the new creation witinesses or confesses of their continuing lapse into sins for love of God and desire for righteousness not for salvation but for sanctification and justification.

NewPilgrim,

Your first two examples were prior to the death of Jesus Christ but still worthy of mention.

Luke 13:3 Yes repentance is still required.

Luke 17:4 This is a brother in Christ sinning against another brother in Christ. It would not be implying an unborn again sinning. And not after the death of Jesus an asking for forgiveness under the new covenant for salvation. Like I mentioned there is only one scripture saying to ask for forgiveness of your sins and that is for born again believers only and not for a precursor to salvation.

The Lord is our brother once we are saved, then we can ask 70 times 7 per day.

Act 2:38

The word

Jesus said it, and I believe it.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
