Greetings to all of you in our Lord Jesus Christ.

I thought it would be intresting to get some opinions on this. How does modern day media affect you as a christian. TV, Radio, Internet, Movies. What do you like and dislike and what do you think we should overlook and pass up. I suppose you would have to throw video games in there too. I will reply later to this in a bit. Let the discussion begin..

In general, I hate modern day media!

I hardly watch TV, the only programmes I watch with any regularity now are Neighbours, The Simpsons and Top Gear.

Most of it is absolutely awful, full of sex, swearing etc.

As for music, I listen to a selection of Christian and non Christian bands. I had my MP3 player on shuffle earlier and it was pretty much Christian followed by non Christian followed by Christian...and so on.

As a fellow soldier in God's army I have to say that I'm discusted with the majority of what is on television. Even some of the shows that are supposed to have good moral values promote things that are not right in the eyes of God. For example pre-marital

sex. As Christians we have remained silent for way to long, and compromised with the enemy. When Elvis did the hip thing on the Sullivan show people made a big fuss, and now compared with the things that we see on regular cable television it makes the whole hip shaking thing look like child's play. We as Christians need to wake up, take a stand against this UnGodly garbage, and take America back. I believe the only reason that America has it as good as it does right now when compared with other countries ib because of the strong faith in God that the faithful few of us still hold on to.

I honestly feel that ifthe movie industry, reality tv, tabloids...(hollywood in general) ceased to exist, our culture would improve dramatically.

Our kids mimic the tabloid standards, not the church standards. One decreased and the other increased.

All of it can be used for good or evil..

you see what you want to see..

whatever you want you can find it...

There is a lot of false teachings out there that are drawing away many...but we are drawn away buy our own desires...

I have chosen to find the good stuff...

Like this place...

I have recently installed Sky Angel and I listen to Christian radio but the Moody radio as I am not fond of the "New Music"...

I have listened to Christian Radio, specifically Moody, for so many years I do not remember...

My kids grew up listening to the children's programming ....

Phi 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Worthy has been a good influence on me as I am not a very open person...

I am able to share my faith and feelings and family and it is great...

I have found out the problems that I knew nothing of and can pray with understanding for His people..

Pretty cool place...

I do not like the immorality of the tv so I do not watch it except for a few things that are fun or the news...I watched a movie called the devils arithmetic the other day and mattlock and diagnosis murder ..

I am a sci fi fan but do not watch much of the new stuff as I do not like over the edge stuff....

too weird or violent or gross...

reality tv???get real.....

so I stay pretty clear of new stuff ...

I am grounded firmly in my faith but I really am concerned for the young today because of the pull of their flesh to go with the flow of the world view...

which is the motivating force behind the programming...to get their minds...

What we watch or hear or see affects us a lot more than we may realize at the time..

If I see a movie with bad language I struggle with the words coming to mind...I do not like that...

seeds are planted in our heads and we have to do a lot of "weeding"...

Again..the youth of today have the very face of the devil to look at all the time and everywhere they look and they are seeing more than we ever did or our children if we have grown children..

Lord Bless the Children and keep their hearts and minds from the filth and deception of the media...

But when all is said ...We are making the choices in what to listen to or to watch and if we desire to please the Lord and serve Him we will not be drawn away from truth..

I believe He is able to keep me from all of this deception that is floating around on the net and tv and radio and games...

2Ti 1:12 .. for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

my thought on it...

What you see and hear affects you rather you want to admit it or not. I am sure that people who do not think of Jesus Christ as real have problems thinking anything is wrong but TV is a tool straight from Satan.

I don

I barely watch any tv, but when i do its selective. I enjoy the food network and nasa tv. Thats about it for tv. I do watch a movie now and then and those i choose carefully. To be honest i spend more time on the internet then anything. I spend a lot of time here at worthy of course and in the weather sites that support my hobby stormchasing. I do play some video games altho its not often. I spend most of my days, working, daily chores, time with my wife and most of the rest of the time is dedicated to spending time with God, in prayer and the Word and here at worthy. My life might sound boring but believe me its not. The internet as i said has pro's and con's like all media, but when i look at how it brings all us believers together here at Worthy, it truly has a positive note. :)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
