Paul warned us about receiving another gospel. Maybe its time to look at the Gospel according to the author of the Gospel, Jesus. There seems to be a sentiment that a few verses in Paul are the whole Gospel. Could it be that many have been fooled.

Jesus, our Saviour, the 'Living Word', thus the 'living Gospel', said:

Mt 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

10:37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

10:38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

10:39 He that finds (holds on to) his life (instead of being crucified with Christ) shall lose it: and he that loses his life for my sake shall find it. (find life eternal with Jesus)

10:40 He that receives you receives me, and he that receives me receives him that sent me. (this is what it means to receive Jesus as Lord and Saviour. This is the what it means to believe, to be saved by faith)

This is in perfect harmony with Paul who preached the Gospel of Christ.

Rom 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized (Immersed or drowned) into his death?

6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

6:5 For if we have been planted (buried) together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection (now):

6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

6:7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

It would seem that the belief that saves is more that just some intellectual acknowledgment but a power that destroys the 'old man of sin' and begets a completely 'new creation' who is dead to the world, dead to sin, dead to the religion of 'drawing near to God with the mouth' and loves God with all the heart, mind, soul and strength. This is the Gospel of Christ and of Paul. Both knew that 'Saving Faith' connects fallen man with 'all the Power of God'

God bless,

Dennis

John put it this way. Jesus was about to pick up His cross and go to Calvary. This is where we pick up our cross and follow Him. This is where the grain of wheat falls in the ground and dies, so it can bring forth much fruit and live the experience of John 15.

John 12:23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.

12:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

12:25 He that loves his life shall lose it; and he that hates his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. (There are few who understand this teaching of Christ)

12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me (Where was He going, to Calvary) ; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

Here again we see that Paul agrees completely with Jesus:

Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. (Two types of believers)

8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. (The carnal believer is the enemy of God for he is not subject to the 'law of God' and neither indeed can he be. He hates the 'law of God)

8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God (no matter how much they praise Him).

8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

8:10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken (give life to) your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 8:12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. (all believers choose one or the other and will reap what they've sown.)

8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Now these are the words of Paul, and they are in perfect harmony with the words of Jesus. You see Paul wrote many things, not just believe only and be saved. He knew as all true christians know, that there is a race to run, a prize to claim, and that being 'born again' was just the beginning, that it didn't guarantee that one would abide in Christ and be faithful to the end.

God bless and keep,

Dennis

We'll try again,

Is no one interested in the 'Gospel of Jesus'. This is the only Gospel that saves the soul. This is the Gospel of the Saviour.

Jesus said:

Mt 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven (in the judgment): but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

These are the words of our Saviour! These are part of 'His Gospel'. They are written down in the 'Gospel of Matthew'. These words cannot be changed by any man, pastor or theologian. They are true and as Jesus said, they will be used to judge believers to determine if they are believers of the heart or just those who draw near with their lip in hollow praise.

God bless,

Dennis

I'm sorry but, I'm confused about your point. You seem upset or at least discouraged that there haven't been any comments in this topic...but I'm not sure what exactly you were looking for? :)

Pilgrim, if I am understanding you correctly, you are dangerously mixing the Law and the Gospel. The good news of Christ is not all of the things we are required to do that you have noted. These are law. The simple message of the gospel is that sinners are freely justified before God because of the death and merits of Christ. That is indeed good news.

The gospel as you are presenting it is not really good news at all. In fact its very bad news because it requires more work from us than we are capable of performing to please God.

He believes in a "gospel" that requires mandatory Sabbath observance. That is why it appears so "law based."

Just a bunch of false teaching.

Paul warned us about receiving another gospel

There is only one way to Jesus, and the bible tells us this. THere is only one Gospel. If paul warned us about it, then it was Warned for a reason. THere is only one, and we should keep our eyes straight ahead on Jesus christ our lord and savoir.

Matthew 5:

17 "Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfil them.

18 For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished.

19 Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

20 For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."

PLEASE read these verses concerning the law and righteousness carefully:

Joh 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

Ro 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Ac 13:39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Ga 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

Ro 9:30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.

31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.

32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;

33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.

Heb 8:13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

Ga 3:19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

Amen. :o

Peter himself called the imposition of the law upon disciples placing a burden upon them which neither the Jewish believers nor their fathers had been able to bear.

Thanks be to God forever that we needn't be judged based on our works (except for reward for those who are in Christ)!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
