Those who believe in Jesus continue in his word, not in sin, for they were made free from sin.

Joh 8:30 As he spoke these words, many believed on him.

8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If you continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

8:32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

8:33 They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: why do you say, You shall be made free?

8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

8:35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.

8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Those who sin are the servants of sin and will not abide eternally in the kingdom.

Here is the real 'Good News', that we are cricified with Christ, that it is 'not I that live, but that Christ lives in me'. Christ who lives in us does not sin nor lead us to sin. That would be the 'Old Man' having been resurrected from the dead by my will. Jesus would have to be denied His rightful place as 'Lord and Master', thus the need for a real repentance for such a rebellion.

Ro 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

6:7 For he that is dead (crucified with Christ) is freed from sin.

God Bless,

Dennis

The posts before mention alot about the Sabbath - well in my oppinion the sabbath is meant for us to have rest ...you know God explains to us to be able to use wisdom so in His ultimate wisdom we should think that the Sabbath was meant for fellowship, (Church) and a break away from the rat race we call our working enviroment.

Amen Nevin,

God, through the Word, Jesus, made the day holy at creation, it was a part of creation. Holy means set aside for a holy use. This was the special day that He instructed Adam and Eve in righteousness and holiness. They were perfect until they chose to sin, yet they still need instruction in righteousness and holiness. Thus the need to 'cease' from all secular activities and keep the day holy in communion with God. This is one of the ways that God sanctifies His people. Notice Jesus didn't say that the Sabbath was made for the Jews as most say today, but He said that the Sabbath was made for man, meaning for mankind, at creation.

Mr 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:

2:28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

Why didn't Jesus say that the Sabbath was made for the Jews, as most people teach today. Could it be that Jesus knows better than they.

God Bless,

Dennis

Hey Pilgrim why don't you check out what Jesus and the Law really are all about:

The Way of The Master

If you're really searching for Truth in the manner of Law and it's implications for Christians Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron pretty much did it for you.

listen to the first two audios

Don't pass it bye.

Amen Billie!

Aftwine,

I appreciate your post and your advice. I have been aware of what Comfort and Cameron have been doing for some time now. I have read Ray Comfort in the past.

Yet it is the Scriptures that teach us the truth. This is where I get my teaching.

The Law defines sin. It is the realization of sin, having broken the Law, that causes the sinner to seek a Saviour. When is saved, he is saved from sin, he is dead to sin as Paul says, he is free from sin, and now he is to no longer walk therin, thus he is to keep Commandments of God that point out sin. Sin is an abnormality for the Christian. The one in the Spirit does not walk in the flesh, but in the Spirit and thus does not fulfill the desires of the flesh. If he does, he takes over control from Christ and becomes a transgressor again, Gal 2.

Ro 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

8:9 But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

8:10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

The Christian is not saved to sin, but from sin, Chrsit lives in Him as 'Lord and Master' and does not lead him to sin or disobey the Commandments.

Jesus is the door. To enter, one must go through the door, not just believe that He is the door. We must enter in through the door. We must go through Jesus. This is what is called being crucified with Christ, the forsaking of all that is not of Christ and allowing Him to live His life of righteous obedience through them.

Joh 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that enters not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief and a robber.

10:2 But he that enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

10:3 To him the porter opens; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out.

10:4 And when he putts forth his own sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

10:5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

10:6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spoke unto them.

10:7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

10:8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.

10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

10:10 The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep.

10:12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep, and flees: and the wolf catches them, and scatters the sheep.

10:13 The hireling flees, because he is an hireling, and cares not for the sheep.

10:14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

10:15 As the Father knows me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

One fold and one shepherd. Does that sound like what we have today. Was Jesus wrong, didn't he know that the Holy Spirit would not be able to lead His sheep into all truth, but that there would need to be thousands of folds, millions of hirelings and hundreds of Christs, or anti-christs. Lo, my christ says I'm 'once save, always saved'. Lo, my Christ says all you need to do is 'praise' God, lo, my christ says you need to 'laugh' your way into the kingdom, Lo my Christ says He wants us all to be rich in money, not righteousness, Lo He is here, Lo He is there. Who did the Scripture say it was who 'scatters the sheep'?

God Bless,

Dennis

More of the Gospel of Jesus:

Joh 12:23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.

12:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

12:25 He that loves his life shall lose it; and he that hates his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. (hmm, heard that one lately from the pulpit)

12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

Where are we to follow Jesus. Where did the cross take Him. If we are to pick up our cross, and follow Him, where is it going to take us. Scripture says that it takes us to be crucified with Christ.

God Bless,

Dennis

God bless you, Floatingaxe!

Doesn't seem to be much interest in our following Jesus to Calvary and crucifixion.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
