Yeah, you'd think they'd eventually 'get it' but I don't think it's going to happen.

Peace anyways!

I did not mean to upset everyone with this issue. It is obviously very volatile. For those of you who have responded in love with a sincere desire to help I thank you and may God continue to give your revelation knowledge about His purpose. I have not made an ultimate decision about how I will proceed but one thing is certain, I will allow myself to be led by the Holy Spirit in whom all truth resides.

Jettd:

Yeah, look what you started!!!

Just kidding.

It was a sincere question and you were searching for truth, but in your search, don't forget to look at the scriptures. It's the only holy inspired true word of God.

Yes,

And in your search, remember that some wear their ignorance about the Bible, the Catholic Church, and even their own church's teachings like a badge of honor....and that they can neither lead themselves nor anyone else to the truth.

So take your time and investigate thoroughly not only what the inspired scripture teaches, but also what inspired traditon teaches as well.

What you have been presented here has largely been false about what Catholicism teaches and you would do well to get the proper advice before proceeding.

Excuse me, please, but would you mind refraining from calling people ignorant, or dumb or what ever else you wish to insult them with....

thank you....

what I believe, is what i believe.... what you believe is what you believe....

if you believe you have to bow down to other beings other then the Lord God Almighty.... that is you, i will not.... if you feel that you can create graven images and bow down before them, that is you, not me, i will not....

if you feel that you have to talk to human being to get to Jesus, so that Jesus can go to God, that is you, not me, for I go thru the Lord Jesus, Christ, to get to the Father, not to any other human being or person or statue of a dead person.....

what part of thou shalt not, is not understood????

thou shalt not have any other gods before me.....

thou shalt not make any graven images......

thou shalt not bow down before them......

it is also written to remain blameless, if we bow down infront of a statue, even thou we are not praying to it or worshipping it, the appearance of worshipping it or praying to it exist and thus we would not be blameless, even thou we are inocent..... Jesus Himself told us that there is only one way to the Father, and that was thru Him..... not mary, not His mother, not John the baptist, not paul sylis, not barnabas.... but only Him... Jesus....

I only pray that the Lord opens your eyes as He did mine,

opens the truth of the Word of God to you so that you may see it..... and no longer be hoodwinked... no longer be deceived, no longer be following man instead of Jesus.

I hope you have taken Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, that you have repented of your sins and been washed clean by the Blood of the Lamb..... for it was by the Grace of God that we are saved, and there is nothing else that can save you......

it is also written that who ever teaches a gosple other then this one ( the Gosple of Jesus Christ ) that we are not to welcome them nor bless them on their way.....

it is also written that if this gosple is rejected, then we are to shake the dust from our feet in testimony against that place......

I do not stand kindly to being called ignorant, stupid, dumb, idiotic, but if that is what you wish to do, that is fine...... I fully understand where you come from.....

for I have been there ...... some time back.....

do you know what my church teaches???

I do, and i know what other churches teach as well, so as far as a badge of honor, I have none.......and do not need any.......

tradition is good, we all know that, but we are also told that tradition does not outweigh the Word of God.....

Tradition was broken when the veil, curtain was torn,

with the reserrection of the Lord, the Sabbath, was also taken out, and we changed our worship to Sunday, the first day of the week vice the last day of the week...

Tradition was turned upside down...... Tradition tends to lock us in and locks God in so that Gods work is limited, as with denominational doctrine.....

Break off of tradition and Let God Do What God Does Best.... Let God out of the Boxes we have placed Him in...

Let God be FREE to move around.... dont just keep Him in the Church buildings..... Let His Spirit Roam thru the halls at school, and work and out side, and in your homes...

God wants y ou to have Him to the fullest.....

not just a piece of Him, but His Entire Being, just as God wants Us.... ENTIRELY..... TOTALLY.....

jettd1313,

even after all this discussion, do you feel that you have the answer you need???

probably even more confussed..... I know I would have been at one time......

it is best that you take this question, get on your knees, and do some heavy duty praying and fasting before the Lord.....

You know the truth, you have the truth in you, allow the Spirit of God to show it to you..... take the time and be with God... spend the time that we all should spend with Him...... develope that ONE ON ONE relationship with God that He so deeply desires of us all..... develope that LOVE LOVE relationship with the Lord God..... the One and Only God that truely Loves you more then anyone else can ever love you....

Spend time with the Lord...

as you can see by the differances in opinion, or some may even call it religion, there is enough between Catholic and Protestant, that it can not be considered equally yoked.... some one will have to bend and if you are ground in the Faith.... well, i will let it be at that....

your friend and brother....

mike

My parents are very cold and calloused. If you ask my father anything about it he will flat out tell you he hates Christians because all they do is decieve. He has been hurt by many Christians who think they are holier than thou. My mother was excommunicated for marrying a Baptist. Straight out. It was 1969. It was all demoninations that harmed my dad and caused him to hate. My mother holds to the old rules that excommubicated her. In her mind it is not right to re enter the Catholic church. Religion did so much for them. Forget religion.........try just having Jesus as savior, and following what the bible says without leaving anything out.

If your mother was excommunicated, it was not on the basis of her having married a fellow christian no matter what you or she thinks. Catholics do not 'excommunicate' on the basis of marrying outside of Catholicism and will in fact allow Catholics to marry Baptists. It is certainly not 'preferred' but it is acceptable and it is frequently done.

As with most here, it appears your mother is confused about what the Catholic Church teaches and may simply be speaking out of ignorance not knowing what the church teaches at all.

Nevertheless, you, and your parents will be in my prayers.

Here is a helpful Catholic article indicating how and when Catholics will allow marriage.

Please note that marriage is NOT forbidden between believing Protestants-Catholics and sometimes not even between Catholics and unbelievers under pressing circumstances....

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
