Ok, my question is: (wether it be "cookie cutter" witnessing or not), what are YOU doing to tell people about the Blood shed of Jesus Christ? Are you just keeping it to yourself because you don't want to use the "cookie cutter" approach!? The Way of the Master is a teaching method of witnessing, and as i'm sure you all know we don't all write our alphabet the exact way we were taught! So, put your own personality into it and God will use you with or without the "cookie cutter" method! I got alot of new approaches from that site. God uses what he wants to use when you are doing it for Him!!!!!!

Love In Christ,

Rachel

What The Way of the Master is doing right is showing people that they have a need for a Savior. They are presenting the full gospel to people.

Jesus never tried to woo people into the kingdom through benefits or personal gain. Today's churches are full of an incomplete gospel, wooing people into the magical Sinner's Prayer so they can be part of the Born Again Club. Most are not telling people about the price they need to pay by counting the cost, surrendering their lives fully to Him, picking up their cross and following Jesus in your lifestyle. Salvation is a lifestyle, not a belief. That's why our churches are so full of people who proclaim to know Christ but deny Him by their lifestyles.

Actually Jesus did use "felt needs" as a bridge to their real needs. He demonstrated love through meeting felt needs so that He could bring them to a reality of their real needs. The most effective evangelism takes place in the context of established relationships. It is in those relationships where the integrity and love of the believer can be seen and experienced by the unsaved person, that the best chance for seeing Jesus occurs. They must trust us before they will hear our truth

Exactly. Jesus met their needs. Perhaps I wasn't as clear as I had hoped. I meant that he didn't use the benefits of His kingdom to lure people into making a decision for Him. He showed people their needs, met them, and used them to show them their need for a Savior. He didn't use salvation as "fire insurance" or tell people that they wouldn't have anymore problems or that they would be magically taken care of. He didn't entice them with the positive without explaining that they would need to count the cost, take up their cross and follow Him. He didn't say that all it takes is to say a magical prayer and BOOM they're in. He expressed that it's a heartfelt decision and lifestyle. He told them about the wonders of it but also the other side of it - the cost.

Yeah - I was thinking along the same lines.

If they are bringing people to a saving knowledge of Jesus, then whatever they are doing can't be all that wrong, huh?

It may not be "your" way, but how many people are you bringing into the Kingdom?

I say the Lord bless them and keep reaching the lost! :noidea:

Amen, Rachel!

I have taken Ray and Kirks' seminar when they were in Ottawa about three summers ago, and found the teaching invaluable! Ray stresses the fact that we are encountering people who have been falsely converted to Christ, hearing only that when one accepts Christ, their lives would become wonderful and they would be happy--when that doesn't happen--as we all know it doesn't become problem-free, then they become disillusioned, and lose their way. We also encounter so many people who just are not convicted of sin--the Ten Commandments reveal our sinfulness. So, that is what Ray and Kirk emphasize. Both these types of individuals need to come to repentence, and we as a Church have neglected that message of the gospel for a long time. The feel-good gospel has taken over and brought so much heartache and disillusionment. Praise God for Ray's vision!

It is not a "cookie-cutter" witnessing tool--it is an education for us, and a wake-up call!

You are so right, Rachel, when you say that we can add our own personality to these things, and God will use it and bless it, and be glorified by it!

Blessings!

I think it was D.L. Moody who had a person criticize him for the way he was doing evangelism. He aksed her how many people she had led to Christ in the last year. She said none. Moody responded that he would stick with his incorrect method of seing people come to Christ, that her correct non-action

Since when was the quanity of people led to Christ of anymore quality than the way we did it? You lead 1,000 people to Christ in one year using a method and I lead one person in ten years. Of your 1,000, you disciple none and leave them to the wind. Of my one I disciple him and help him along the way. Who has done the greater good?

Yes, leading people to Christ is wonderful, but the problem with these methods is they offer absolutely zero discipleship. It's like bringing a new born babe into the world and then putting him in a dumpster.

As for the quote from D.L. Moody, the lady was right to question him and criticize him, but I'll leave that right there.

I think we forget that more often than not, these people who "say a prayer" (such as at Moody's revivals) are not truly saved, it's an emotional experience. Though people can come to Christ through any method, just because we get someone to say a prayer and get a notch on our belt doesn' tmean we have done the right thing. I say if people know how many they have led to Christ then their priorites are in the wrong place.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
