irishcowboy Posted June 29, 2006 Group: Royal Member Followers: 1 Topic Count: 127 Topics Per Day: 0.03 Content Count: 3,248 Content Per Day: 0.88 Reputation: 13 Days Won: 0 Joined: 03/23/2014 Status: Offline Share Posted June 29, 2006 is the church training up the members to be sent out into the world? is the pastor training the rest of the pastorial staff to take over his job? is the pastorial staff training the other workers in the church to take over their jobs? are the other workers training others to move up and take over their jobs? are the others working the streets to have some one to fill their seat when they move up from the pew warmers job? if this is not happening, why? if the bus driver gets sick, is there some one to cover for him(her) until they are back on their feet? if they are injured and are unable to drive for several weeks or months (like in hip or knee replacement stroke or heart attack) will the bus sit still, or will some one else take over? if a sunday school teacher falls away, who will take over? who will visit them? if the custodian moves on, who will train up the next one? when some one is absent from a small fellowship, people notice, and most of the time, there is a phone call or visit made, when some one is absent from a mega church (larger fellowship) who notices? who visits? who calls? this is why it is so important to have small group meetings as well as the regular fellowship meetings. the head Pastor should be training one or two or at most three people to take over his position at all times. the other pastors should be looking for others and training others to step into their position (sunday school teachers, elders, deacons, and even trustees) working themselves out of a job. the sunday school teachers should be training some one to co-teach so that they can even fill in that spot, the elders, deacons, and trustees should be training others for these jobs.... when some one gets trained, they should not be left on the back burner either, they should be sent out to search the highways and biways, looking for others to bring to the Lords party, we have our chariots (cars) and wagons (vans and buses)..... the Harvest is underway. it is past noon time, and the master is looking for more workers of the harvest. no rock i know of will out sing me, or even out work me for the Lord. mike Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
