Church leaders here said Muslim extremists overwhelmed police officers providing refuge for an unidentified Christian woman in this town in Niger state on June 28 and stoned and clubbed her to death for doing street evangelism.

Care to show us where a muslim has been stoned by Christians for "evangelising"? Lets put the past behind us for a moment and look at the now. Ireland not withstanding, where have you known Christians to be violent and intolerant of other religions?

Uhm... The crusades... In the name of God...

History is replete with violence on behalf of Christianity in the name of God.

Unfortunately, while these sorts of gorilla tactics are non-Biblical, non-Christian, they still came in the name of God and gave Christianity a bad rap.

Read my post again. What Christians are NOW behaving in a similar fassion? Where, NOW, do you see Chrisitians stoning people of other faiths? Where NOW do you see Christians persecuting people of other faiths?

As for the crusades, as I understand it, the muslims prompted such a harsh reaction by the RCC when they sought to take over Christian lands and marched north. The crusades began as a means to regain the land that was taken from "Christiandom" by the muslims. While they, the crusades, might be considered an "over-reaction", they were not the convert or kill tactics they have been made to seem.

I have to say, I see it all the time. No, not physical stones. But verbal ones. And they can do as much damage, if not more at times by pushing would be believers away from Christ.

I cannot tell you how many times I have spoken with "Christians" or clergy who have cast the first stone.

A perfect example... my fiance, who has spina bifida, visited a church - an Assembly of God. A member of the clergy told her the reason she was not healed of her affliction is she lacked faith.

While this is mono-en-mono, Christian to Christian, I have seen this sort of behavior between Christians and non-Christians.

I do not feel that this is an appropriate, or Christ-like approach to winning people into the kindom of Heaven.

No, you are right - we do not hear of Christians "stoning" or killing others in the name of Christ any more unless they are a cult of sorts. But the verbal stone throwing still exists and damage is still being done.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I consider the clergy about as Christ-like as these cults you refer to. You know, the ones that dance with snakes. I admit, as long as the world sees the clergy as Christs' representatives, they will have a most notable effect when casting these "verbal stones".

Show me a country where the Christians have control and are strictly following every law in the bible, and I'll show you a country where a Muslim will be stoned for evangelizing

Deuteronomy 13:1-6 tells us

If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.

Notice the part where the person should be put to death. Well, if it were a Christian nation and the laws of the land followed the laws of the bible, it would be perfectly fine for us to stone a Muslim man for trying to convert us to his religion.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
